Bush got rid of a guy who apparently failed -- but only slightly. He's cleared the decks for the hose down that will wash Nagin and Blanco out to sea.
That is not what is being reported on CNN , FOX, MSNBC
there is nothing made up about any of this. He is about to resign and he should.
Wonderhow they felt about the Democrat Governor of NJ appointing his GAY LOVER as head of thr states Homeland Security Office
They really covered that story
Nothing close to that is being REPORTED on CNN, Fox, and MSNBC.
That's all wishful thinking, utter rubbish, and just plain out and out lies.
I'm surprised you fell for it.
I hope he sues TIME for libel.
1. FindLaw web site bio: "It said he was a professor at Central State University in political science. We called Central State (now known as the University of Central Oklahoma, in Edmund). They said he had never been a professor there, that he had been a student. But his FindLaw bio says he had been an outstanding professor in political science." [FEMA has issued a statement challenging Time's findings. It reads in part, "Time's misleading online report on Undersecretary Mike Brown's background is based on online information Mr. Brown has never seen. The Web site used as a primary source by the magazine states clearly: 'We try to provide quality information but we make no claims, promises, or guarantees about the accuracy.' ... It's disappointing this magazine relied on unconfirmed information."]2. "His bio, the White House press release, and a number of sources list him as assistant city manager in Edmund, Okla.," Miranda says. " When we called the folks in Edmund, they told us that, no, his position in fact had been assistant to the city manager, which is a purely administrative job, a very different job. He was an administrative assistant. It's sort of an entry-level, intern-type job for somebody who's interested in learning about government. When he began that job in 1977, he was still a college student. He didn't graduate with his B.A. until 1978."
Don't get too comfortable, you will not be here long.
Seems your side lied again.
Source for Time's Hit Piece on Brown Disputes Quotes Attributed to Her Some of Time's sources are revising and extending their remarks. An excerpt: Claudia Deakins, Edmond's director of marketing and public relations, was quoted in the Time article as saying that Brown was not a manager but more like an intern. Brown was assistant to the city manager in Edmond from 1977-80. However, this morning, Deakins disputes Time's quotes attributed to her. I spoke with two reporters from Time Magazine Thursday. I answered questions about the City of Edmond, the organizational structure and role of the city manager and his staff. My comments were in the context of the organization as it functions today. I explained that my employment with the city of Edmond began in 1997, several years after Michael D. Brown's employment by the city and that I could not speak to the specifics of the organizational structure as it was during that time. I also explained that I could not I speak to the details of Mr. Brown's role within the organization. The only people who can speak with authority with regard to Mr. Brown's position in the organization are those who were at the City of Edmond during that time and worked with Mr. Brown, such as the city manager or members of the city council. I regret any misunderstanding that may have occurred as a result of my comments. End of Quote
Not by Michael Brown.
While Time seems to have been wielding a rusty hatchet, does anyone here really believe that Brown was well qualified for his position, let alone the best that could be found? Kinda like Barney Fife heading up the FBI.Hey - he has law enforcement experience!
Troll alert.
No complaints with the hurricanes last summer. Of course the media was busy with Plame gate.
Congress thought he was when "They" confirmed him.
Michael Brown needs to find a Creek ancestor pronto: "I'm proud to be a Muskogee from Central Okie..."
Have you heard of any horrible bombings in Iraq? Could it be because they don't have their cheerleaders there rooting them on?
Seriously tho, have you heard of any horrors there lately?
Just heard on local cable Dallas news. Laura Miller Dallas Mayor is furious, she said that FEMA has not given one cent to help care for all the people that came into the city.
It just gets better and better.
Snip...
Under Secretary Brown has led Homeland Securitys response to more than 164 presidentially declared disasters and emergencies, including the 2003 Columbia Shuttle disaster and the California wildfires in 2003. In 2004, Mr. Brown led FEMAs thousands of dedicated disaster workers during the most active hurricane season in over 100 years, as FEMA delivered aid more quickly and more efficiently than ever before. Previously, Mr. Brown served as FEMA's Deputy Director and the agency's General Counsel. Shortly after the September 11th terrorist attacks, Mr. Brown served on the President's Consequence Management Principal's Committee, which acted as the White House's policy coordination group for the federal domestic response to the attacks. Later, the President asked him to head the Consequence Management Working Group to identify and resolve key issues regarding the federal response plan. In August 2002, President Bush appointed him to the Transition Planning Office for the new Department of Homeland Security, serving as the transition leader for the EP&R Division. Prior to joining FEMA, Mr. Brown practiced law in Colorado and Oklahoma, where he served as a bar examiner on ethics and professional responsibility for the Oklahoma Supreme Court and as a hearing examiner for the Colorado Supreme Court. He had been appointed as a special prosecutor in police disciplinary matters. While attending law school he was appointed by the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee of the Oklahoma Legislature as the Finance Committee Staff Director, where he oversaw state fiscal issues. His background in state and local government also includes serving as an assistant city manager with emergency services oversight and as a city councilman. Mr. Brown was also an adjunct professor of law for the Oklahoma City University. A native of Oklahoma, Mr. Brown holds a bachelor's degree in Public Administration/Political Science from Central State University, Oklahoma. He received his J.D. from Oklahoma City Universitys School of Law
Either Brown or the Dinasour Media is lying. Considering all that we have seen in the last year it's a 50-50 chance either way.
Unfortunately, the damage they set out to do has already been done. Scumbags.
I am going revise my remarks and say its a 25% chance Brown is lying and a 75% chance Time is.
