It was a political backscratch appointment anyway.

It seems that Republicans always back down, supposedly so that the attention can be taken off them and where it should be, but good lord, wasn't he in LA a couple of hours after the hurricane hit? What do people want? What's needed is for the governor and mayor to step down, but I heard a interview with the Lt. governor...perhaps not much better.

The AP QUOTE: MIKE BROWN BEING REMOVED FROM MANAGING HURRICANE KATRINA EFFORTS It's kinda vague. Is he taking vacation during Katrina, or is he gone from FEMA?

Wait until the details come out. If it is true that his resume had some irregularities, even though he is the target of a left smear, then that would never stand with this president. Not putting all her cards on the table killed Linda Chavez's nomination, and she's better than what he got. This president demands honesty.
But to tell the truth, I don't know what's going on and will wait until the truth comes out. Maybe Major Garrett will report on this. Then I might believe it!

If he steps down, how is that the Republicans' fault? If he padded or embellished (lied) on his resume, he should step down and save the president the embarassment.

I don't see why this should upset you so. Did you even know who Michael Brown was 10 days ago?

He's not been fired, merely asked to go back to DC.

If he resigns- then it because he screwed up and if he gets fired it is because he deserves it. President Bush is never going to give in to the moveon/code pink agenda.
