People saying he had no credentials, specifically bug eyes Pelosi, ever so conveniently leave out the fact Brown managed all the Florida Hurricane relief in 2004.

Seems when a Republican is president the liberals expect to not even get a hangnail from a Category 5 hurricane.

"If he's not well-qualified for his job, and if he screwed up, then I say goodbye and good riddance."

I agree. And he may have been ok for the "standard hurricane" (if there is such a thing). But Katrina and the flooding may have been just way too big a task for him (and probably most other people). Katrina clean-up and rebuilding is going to take a loooong time. If a change is to be made, now is the time.

With that said, Nagin and Blanco should follow his lead. I still place much more blame on them!

If this happens, I'm going to have lunch. Or even if it doesn't. That's my ultimatum and I'm sticking to it.

Perfect:)

The Senate confirmed him. Apparently they didn't check his resume, either.

It seems that Republicans always back down, supposedly so that the attention can be taken off them and where it should be, but good lord, wasn't he in LA a couple of hours after the hurricane hit? What do people want? What's needed is for the governor and mayor to step down, but I heard a interview with the Lt. governor...perhaps not much better.

I think he ought to be replaced with a military guy, especially if the nation now expects FEMA to be its first responder.

Maybe we should just get rid of FEMA. Less bureaucracy has to be better.

The AP QUOTE: MIKE BROWN BEING REMOVED FROM MANAGING HURRICANE KATRINA EFFORTS It's kinda vague. Is he taking vacation during Katrina, or is he gone from FEMA?

True- Bush doesn't fire people just because under fire.

More likely Brown didn't want to take the heat and stepped down. Wrong choice, imo, but can't stop him.

Most people think Brown is not as much to blame as Blanco and Nagin.

Still, Brown appears to be indecisive.

With him gone, and Democrats left to defend their two incompetents, How does this make Bush look bad?

Blanco and Nagin stay.

The public will not approve these two getting billions to fix New Orleans, Louisiana.

98-0 on a voice vote.

If we are into accountability I think all 98 need to resign.

When dems screw up, republicans lose their jobs. Clinton messed around with an intern, 2 House speakers had to resign. This is 1 fema director, who will be next?

Just in time for him to assume a leadership role on the "Katrina 2005 Commission" to examine his own competence (or lack thereof).

/sarcasm off/

Supposedly AP is reporting that a Vice Admiral is going to step in and take charge on the ground in LA, not necessarily that Brown is out.
