Would they stoop that low?
Ah…well…guess it won’t be the first time it’s happened. Makes me wonder about some of the people we let run around.

"It's a public health crisis. The city is oozing with bacteria off-the-charts, since the water is a festering, stinking mess containing all kinds of chemical contamination and raw, unprocessed sewage. Add into the mix the fact that there is no infrastructure whatsoever, it simply is not realistic to expect to survive in New Orleans until the cleanup is done. "

BS! Take a look at the film in #11. Do you see any water? The woman is telling then to get the hell out. She want's them out! All the hell the way out and doesn't give a damn about their "orders".

Does the house look dirty? Does the woman look hungry, thirsty, sick? Is she asking for their help? No! She says, just get the hell out of my house that you were never invited into!

"All kinds of contamination...chem contaminationBS, where! Maybe this woman is one of the looters? MAybe she's just a mob boss? Can you come up with some more possibilities to smear the woman's wishes, will and abilities so to justify her being hearded off by the jackbooted goons and flunkys of an incompitent liberal snake?

"It's a public health crisis. The city is oozing with bacteria off-the-charts, since the water is a festering, stinking mess containing all kinds of chemical contamination and raw, unprocessed sewage.

BS! It's not an open sewer, so don't pretend it is one, or is anywhere near it.

"it's eminently reasonable to expel people from a public health danger."

Yoou should toss in, "it's for the children" for good measure!

" Add into the mix the fact that there is no infrastructure whatsoever, it simply is not realistic to expect to survive in New Orleans until the cleanup is done."

THe woman survived the 'cane and a whole bunch of decades w/o living in a govm't camp with her govm't mommy and doesn't appreciate anyone denying her Freedom, shoving a jackbooted mommy down her throat and sticking her in a camp! She's not the only one that resents this BS.

Interestingly, this story is up on CNN but the part about confiscating firearms from citizens is mysteriously absesnt.

I'm not denying that it's happening at all,
I'm commenting on CNN's selective portrayal of events.

"Mr. Nagin should learn that a press conference does not make it official, any more than screaming at the camera for help makes it official. There has to be an official paper trail."

While you and I may agree, have you considered that Nagin the Noggin is a Democrat and Democrats don't neccessarily follow the law. For that matter, I believe it is in the Constitution [the new and revised addition] that they have every right to re-write the laws according to their needs and desires.

Clever. But isn't there also a bunch of stuff about warrants and probable cause and such legal details?

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Let's keep in mind that all this warrantless search business is just an invention required to fight the War on Some Drugs. It was not intended by our Founders and it is not in accord with the Constitution.

Ok I'll buy TWO guns. A junk one for the government to steal and a good one to defend my right to have it in the first place. ....almost the same thing I thought except I'll buy 4 or 5 and hide all but one until the cops are gone. They certainly aren't gonna search the whole house.

Where are NRA and GOA and Constituional lawyers?

My question is "where are the cop Freepers".

They need to come out and support their brave brothers! I mean they mostly say they wouldn't seize someones gun but I bet 1000 dollars 9 of 10 would. Squantos is not in that group!

I wonder which one of our cop freepers is going to call this an outrage??? There seems to be an eerie silence about it!

Add into the mix the fact that there is no infrastructure whatsoever, it simply is not realistic to expect to survive in New Orleans until the cleanup is done.

Your first statements show your ignorance but this trumps it. Power is coming up. Water is restored to many areas, the sewers are working in a large area of the city. Teh city is healing. 25 - 35 % of the city is relatively unaffected by the flooding. They just lost power and water.

The 4th Amendment died some time ago. NO was its 'official' funeral.

So where is the outrage of our elected officials? I see plenty of outrage here on FR (and a few boot lickers, sadly), but nothing from any politician yet.

I eagerly await their strong opposition to the trashing of our Constitution in the city of New Orleans, even amid the likely event that they won't.

There is a declared state of emergency and there is an obvious crisis situation. I'm not sure what the prerogatives of the government are in a declared emergency.

4th....The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Perhaps an "emergency" declaration by the President is sufficient to satisfy the "unreasonable" restriction. Also, there is nothing that says a "Warrant" has to be issued by a judge.

5th....nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;

Perhaps the emergency declaration and the laws describing that are considered "due process" during times of crisis.

My guess is that these special provisions would have some kind of limitation if they do, in fact, exist.
