On Respect Life Sunday, October 2, 2005, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., pro-lifers will stand in solidarity for a LIFE CHAIN around Christ Hospital, 4440 W. 95th St. [near Kostner] Oak Lawn, Illinois. Sponsored by Concerned Women for America of Illinois and Our Lady of Guadalupes Helpers for Life, the public will have an opportunity to witness in front of Christ Hospital that live birth abortions are NOT acceptable.
LIFE CHAIN [ www.LifeChain.net ] is a national event held annually for the last 14 years with more than 950 cities participating. It is the largest peaceful, prayerful, pro-life, public witness in the world. On Sunday, October 2nd, you will be standing with virtually thousands and thousands of like-minded people across the United States sending the message that abortion is NOT A CHOICE AT ALL, but a critical and devastating mistake.
For six years, nationwide attention has been riveted on Christ Hospitals abortion/infanticide procedure that sometimes results in babies being aborted alive. Despite the fact that President George Bush signed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act in 2002, Christ Hospital has not publicly stated that it will stop committing abortions. On August 12, 2005, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, signed HB-984, Born Alive Infant Act into law; the General Assembly supported this Act with a unanimous vote. A hospital with the name of Christ should adhere to Gods Word that says, God hates hands .that kill innocent people. [ Proverbs 6:16-17]
Between 500 to 1,000 people have attended the last five LIFE CHAINS at Christ Hospital, stretching around the perimeter of the hospital complex, which is one city block wide and two city blocks long. Those who attend know that it is quite a spectacular and worshipful event. Signs are available which proclaim: Abortion Kills Children, Adoption the Loving Option, Jesus Forgives & Heals, Lord, Forgive Us and Our Nation, Abortion Hurts Women, Life the First Inalienable Right, and Pray to End Abortion.
Signs will be available from 2:00 p.m. at the corners of 95th and Kostner, and 95th and Kilbourne. Bring your whole family, friends and your church members to attend. Water, lawn chairs, umbrellas and strollers are welcome. A free will offering will be collected to cover expenses.
You will be a light in a darkened world as you help put an end to abortion through prayer!
