CNN's Soledad O'Brien given the verbal smackdown by NOLA resident
American Morning co-host Soledad O'Brien has had this holier-than-thou on-air attitude throughout the entire crisis following Hurricane Katrina. The past few mornings, she has been broadcasting from New Orleans to show the magnitude of the disaster.
Well...this morning, a New Orleans resident whose house is high and dry came on the CNN morning program and...let's just say that Soledad got the smackdown.

Soledad can shower at my place (as long as she doesn't talk).
LOL. I got that, but only after hitting reply and planning to say, "You boob! Coffee is boiled..." So who's the boob?
I'm with Ms. Labarre. Why leave for the unknown and have to depend on the kindness of strangers and the bureaucracy of government when you have everything you need in your own high and dry home?

I find it interesting how the on-site flood coverage has really exposed the journalism skills of some of these stuffed-shirt makeup-and-microphone 'anchors.' You can't just walk into a disaster zone and start reporting unless you have pretty good instincts for operating in that sort of environment.
On a similar note, I think the 'presentation skills' necessary for TV broadcasting really pare down the stock of reporters, with ill effect. How many Walter Winchells or Matt Drudges or Howie Carrs can we expect to get in the next generation? 'Journalism' is dominated by libs, and liberals tend to have poor truth and BS detectors, so we get these camera bimbos and hairsprayed men with little substance behind them. Then you throw them into a real fray like New Orleans, and half of them can't see straight without a teleprompter and don't know the right questions to ask.
Journalism used to be about getting the story, and the good ones were the ones who wanted to get to the truth. nowadays they want to 'change the world,' facts be damned.
Thanks for the ping, Snidely.
O'Brien is the reason I have scratch marks down the front of my TV screen.....been trying to rip her face off all week.
Soledad, you might want to put some ice on that....
Looks to me like she had it coming...but what do I know?...;o]
I would let her use my shower. Of course, to preserve water, we'd have to shower together.
...ehhh, gimme a break. There are no atheists in a foxhole, and there's no media bias when you're looking into the doe eyes of a fox. Ask Rush Limbaugh.
LOL Funny!
Of course, that's not an option. Even if there was any ice, it would probably be brown.
She is a total snob...never have liked her.
Why didn't you post the transcript here?
Hey, some folks still drink instant coffee. ;)
I did, initially. However, we're only permitted to excerpt CNN content (which extends -- I guess -- to transcripts as well).

ROFLMAO!
Dave Barry once said after Hurricane Andrew that he hated reporters coming down to Florida and sticking their mike into the hurricane victims' face and asking them why they are still here. He said just once he wanted a resident to answer back: "I live here, what's you're excuse!" Dave got his wish.
