Did Blanco attempt genocide at Superdome?
Ramblings' Journal ^ | 9.7.05 | Michael King

Posted on 09/07/2005 8:08:10 PM PDT by mhking

The Red Cross has confirmed to Fox News Channel's Major Garrett that they had requested permission to take food and medical supplies to the Louisiana Superdome in the hours immediately after Hurricane Katrina's landfall. That request was denied by none other than Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco.

Garrett appeared on Hugh Hewitt's syndicated radio program this evening to discuss the shocking revelation.

MG: Well, the Red Cross, Hugh, had pre-positioned a literal vanguard of trucks with water, food, blankets and hygiene items. They're not really big into medical response items, but those are the three biggies that we saw people at the New Orleans Superdom, and the convention center, needing most accutely. And all of us in America, I think, reasonably asked ourselves, geez. You know, I watch hurricanes all the time. And I see correspondents standing among rubble and refugees and evacuaees. But I always either see that Red Cross or Salvation Army truck nearby. Why don't I see that?

HH: And the answer is?

MG: The answer is the Louisiana Department of Homeland Security, that is the state agency responsible for that state's homeland security, told the Red Cross explicitly, you cannot come.

HH: Now Major Garrett, on what day did they block the delivery? Do you know specifically?

MG: I am told by the Red Cross, immediately after the storm passed.

The Louisiana Department of Homeland Security is directly under the command and direction of Governor Kathleen Blanco. The same Kathleen Blanco who has whined and blamed the federal government from her perch in Baton Rouge throughout this entire crisis. The same Kathleen Blanco who has stared at cameras with deer-in-headlight-glazed eyes since Hurricane Katrina made landfall. The same Kathleen Blanco who, after being asked about federal help prior to landfall said, "No." The same Kathleen Blanco who rescinded Mayor Ray Nagin's order to completely evacuate the city due to dangerous conditions just today.

Was Kathleen Blanco's goal the death of as many of those in the Superdome as possible?

TX Bluebonnet, you make a very good point. You might have hit the Mother Lode with that one. Indeed, many of these people who made it to other places, and are getting help, now have the option TO NOT RETURN TO NEW ORLEANS, and from reports a lot of them are deciding to stay away. And these are the very people who keep the Dems in power in that area and in the state as well.

I find it very difficult to believe that anyone is as incompetent and stupid as Blanco has been -- even if they are a leftist. I truly wonder if there is something else going on here. The term "genocide" here is somewhat over the top, yes, I'll agree.

But there is something going on here. Something more than an incompetent woman sitting on a couch stuffing herself with bon-bons while people die in New Orleans.

Honestly? There is one thing that matters to a Democrat more than anything. Power.

Killing off your solid voting block doesn't sound like something a Democrat would blatantly engage in. Keeping them dependent, hell yeah, I buy that one. I fully believe we've seen ample proof of how the welfare state can kill, but it doesn't happen quickly.

We also know the Democrats live in a world where nothing bad will happen, or if it does, it's a Republicans fault. they actually believe this.

So when that hurricane came, I don't think they understood it's power. I don't think they were visionary enough to imagine the consequences of the welfare state conjoined with incompetant leaders, dusty precedure responses and a levy that would sink as the Titanic did.

See, it makes sense to me that they think supplying no food and no water will keep people out. They think a U.N. resolution will restore order. They think treaties bring peace.

This is why Liberals should not run the country. They are incompetant, yes, but they are part infantile in their thoughts. They think nothing bad will ever happen to them no matter what they do, and that daddy will be there to blame yet care for them afterwards when the real world intrudes.

"Why would she do this?"

John and Ken might use the term "thinning the herd."
They might.

Not me.

I suspect that a close look at post-Katrina New Orleans will expose a rat's-nest of corruption that will be prosecuted, and that is her greatest fear.

Would she be desperate enough that she would allow people to die to prevent discovery of her malfeasance? I find it hard to imagine that a human being could be so callous, cold or just plain stupid to that level.

As well, iBlanco has ordered no information to be given to public re the timeline of her State response to this disaster. . .

Liberals should not be elected to any public office - EVER (!)

They cannot lead. . .they cannot follow. . .

. . .they are impostors at every level. . .and they are just plain disgusting . . .

I told her we were about to witness the biggest disaster the U.S. has ever seen. I mentioned to her that I knew she lived through the 'Great Depression' but this would be worse and happen faster.

Not exactly a student of history, are you. If you had said "natural disaster", you probably would've been correct. But you just had to go Geraldo on her.

Try reading The Grapes Of Wrath, or at least watch the movie.

I came to the same conclusion. Here is my post from another thread:

"Well, I watched this thing since the morning of the levee break. For nearly two days it was just dead air, nothing.

All I saw was news conferences and interviews, but no movement of anything physical. The other thing I saw seemed to be constant meetings behind the scenes but nothing ever getting done.

I would love to know who these people were. My sneaking suspicion is alot of those were lawyers, DNC politicians, party mucky mucks, and liberal political strategists. Possibly even liberal special interest groups like the ACLU. It felt to me that Blanco was a figurehead who was not leading, but being led by handlers behind the scenes.

And that's where my tin-foil hat gets clamped on tight. I hope, I really hope, that there wasn't a strategy to politicize this thing by dragging feet for a couple of days in order to create a crisis to blame Bush. It's the liberal MO

There are a number of whiffs and snippets here and there really have tainted this whole thing with a smell. The primary red flag for me is that they were in CYA mode from zero hour. Given what we know how they had dropped the ball on the levee system and other preps (almost certainly due to corruption), they were acting like they (were) laying down cover.

And on queue, the media took up the ball like someone faxed them some talking points. I've seen this pattern a hundred times. No solid proof, just disturbing patterns. Time will tell hopefully, but I'm not holding my breath."

Now I am seeing several stories about obstructed supplies. The smell grows ever more rank.

Don't try to change the subject. Did you or did you not say the following:

Then I said I thought the administration in LA was herding the poor, sick, homeless, drug addicts and disabled into the Superdoom, (again, not a typo), to kill them so they didn't have to support them

That was what I was commenting on.

I understand the point they are making and please understand that I believe them. But what I am requesting is of a legal nature. I want sworn testimony and affidavits attesting that the Red Cross was not stopped because of security reasons but because the Louisiana officials wanted to evacuate the people at the Super Dome. I can predict the testimony. Louisiana officials will undoubtedly testify that there was a security issue, and the whole thing will be dropped.

This article is pure hogwash. The Democrats in Louisiana did not plan to stand by and watch thousands of their voting base in Louisiana evacuated to other states nor allowed to die anywhere. Yet this is what has happened.

The political landscape of Louisiana has now been changed, perhaps forever. Kathleen Blanco got elected by the very voters that you saw at the Superdome and the New Orleans Convention Center plus the other black residents of New Orleans that are hard working responsible citizens. Most of these responsible black citizens left New Orleans in advance of the storm on thier own accord and by their own means. Most of those that remained were project housing dwellers. The poorest of the poor.

They have been bused and air lifted to other states. Senator Mary Landrieu is very worried because she must run for reelection in 2008, and thousands of her supporters are gone. The rest are mad as hell at the federal government(unjustified but real). As a U. S. Senator she is the federal government. She will not be able to buy poor peoples votes this time because they are GONE. It is going to be interesting to watch. I will not be surprised if the Democrats attempt to get displaced Louisiana citizens living outside of Louisiana declared eligible to vote in Louisiana, ala the military.

KATHLEEN BLANCO HATES BLACK PEOPLE

Maybe she is ticked off at blacks for some reason... had their support for her (polls?) been on the decline lately, or in her last election?

Think it was one of her "let them eat cake" moments....In her case "Let them eat GUMBO"!

SHe is rather out of touch with the "REAL" world and probably didn't even think about "real" people dying.

I have never been to New Orleans, but my son has, and he intensely disliked the city. His job took him to some of the non-tourist areas of the city, and he told me the abysmal conditions in the poorer neighborhoods.

I really didn't know HOW bad until the last few days, when I have been seeing those shacks that people were living in (and I presume were rentals...another disgrace). It looked like Haiti.

Now, I ask myself, how can a city allow such deplorable conditions? In Indianapolis, homes like those are declared public health hazards and condemned.

I want to know where all the money came from for the Stadiums, casinos, etc. And I want to know where all the Homeland Security money the feds sent them wwent. I know $500,000 went to Wesley Clark and James Lee Witt's consulting company.

I think the FBI should take over the New Orleans city hall, for starters, before too many records are destroyed.

You can take that to the bank. I'd lay good money on that...
