I will pray for your family, and if your beloved goes, for his safety. I don't mean to add to your load, but please pray for Connie, a nurse friend who is in Baton Rouge doing a stint for the Red Cross.
It is not adding to my load, I shall keep her in my prayers as well. Those that are responding, giving of their time, they need our support just as much as those displaced.

I happened to catch this interview, and the interview on Hannity's radio program.
This guy has, absolutely, NO moral compass.
I hope he is saying these things, not because he believes them,
but because he his getting attention.
If not, then I hope there aren't many more who think the way he does.
BTW, I think I can safely say that most of the displaced folks do NOT think the way he does.
The population of my hometown has doubled, and things are going very well, there.
In previous threads I always give an update on where I am finding my relatives who reside in Gulfport. I have not been able to locate them on any board/list.
If I still remain empty handed I will drive down there to find them and help them and if needed bring back to our home until they are able to return to theirs.
Surely you're not planning on jumping in the car and wandering around, are you?
My plan, and this will be thought out, to check the routes, check the gas availability and then go. I have a pretty good size SUV, can sleep in it if needed. I do not want to go and become part of the problem but I must find them they are older and with health issues. I have continued to try every avenue open to me to locate them. Last recourse to go down there.
I have mentioned my intentions and several Freeper's have asked if I pass their areas if I might take something to help the folks. A discussion I am willing to entertain.
This will not happen on a whim I assure you.
Okay, but what's your plan once you're there?
We have the name and address of each of the shelters. I will go to each of them. I know where they live so I will also go to see if their home's are still standing. I would be great to call, but, I cannot. I have pulled up their information on a site that gives the names of the neighbor's and their phone number's again the phones are not working to reach anyone.
This is a trip with an objective to find my relatives and return.
I just do not understand how a man, who claims to be a leader can say that looting is OK.
I really think he came on the show to bash Bush, and to discuss Iraq and NOT his thoughts on those folks who chose to steal from their neighbors.

If you all dont understand why he made the statements he made maybe you should read up- we went to iraq with no ties to 911 -none- search for answers ull c. we went for the country that has the largest untapped oil in the world, i know of soilders that told me they were gaurding the US companies at the wells. we r there for oil- enron try searching about chaney and enron. these people r trying to survive however they can, if you think they r taking a tv to plug it in better realize they have no electricity, its for what they can get for food they were after. poor people r takin advantage of in this country every day- who is paying for 911 and this disaster, and the other disasters, is it the rich-NO! its the middle and lower classes- always has been cause the rich want their money thats what their focus is on however they can get it,PERIOD- and if that means taking from u and me they will.
