Nothing is lost forever if you are determined to find it again. Ok, well maybe SOME things are lost forever...I never did find that whatcha-ma-call-it, but then again, I forgot what it even was so who cares. LOL
You've got the gift, FMC, now all you have to do is wrap it up and tie a bow. Then again, sometimes the gifts in plain, brown wrappers are just as beautiful as those wrapped in silver and gold. :) chena
FMC has family missing down there.
"They don't have a way out."
??????????
In our schools with poverty-level-income kids, we teach our kids how to get ahead.
In America, everyone has "a way out."
This stupid woman is the worse kind of enabler.
My problem with the looting (and I include food, water, and clothing) is this. As part of being prepared for a disaster you lay in a supply of food and water. Don't you? Why would one wait and sieze the opportunity for free stuff, risking getting shot, when the safe thing is to buy it before the storm hits, assuming you are going to ride the storm out at home. Everyone who looted those businesses, regardless of what they took, is a criminal IMHO.
Even if they did buy supplies before the storm hit, many of their houses were under water. In most places, flood waters will eventually recede, but in NO, the water will stay until it is pumped out.
Giant Fish Bowl
A really nasty fish bowl.
This woman was beyond the Valley of the Stupid. Why are all the toxic morons teachers? Kids don't stand a chance.
Cesspool.
Was Katrina Looting Justified?
Never!
Thou shalt not steal!
I saw and heard this bozo. I think he just likes to get media attention and listen to himself talk because he makes no sense at all.
gets yer back up, don't it?
I'd like to give a few "woodshed discussions" to the Mediots spouting this garbage.
Boyce Watkins.....living proof that "you can take the boy (waaaaay) out of the neighborhood, but you can't take the neighborhood out of the boy".
bump
I think any wood frame house that has that water in it will need to be destroyed. The city will condemn those houses, take them under eminent domain, pay post-flood value (basically the land cost) to the victims, and insurance will cover the belongings (assuming they had a homeowners policy). Everyone knows the risk of living next to the ocean in a bathtub like New Orleans. Assuming they are going to rebuild the city, any new housing construction should be on stilts above the high water mark. Parking would be under the houses. The cleanup is going to be a mess.
Thanks for the ping. You are spot on! The left always justifies anything that could conceivably amount to a slap at the haves from the have nots. They believe that anyone who has more than someone else took it immorally if not illegally. Rush would have fun with that one. Good luck to your hubby and to you if you get down there.
New Orleans resets nothing. Rather, it represents and showcases The Great Society promulgated by that socialist in sheep's clothing, Lyndon Bird.
Most of those "families", represented by 66% of NO population, don't have fathers. Their daddys were replaced by welfare checks, foodstamps and whatever could be tossed in the front door to make sure daddy never returned.
Of course these daddys are the father of many childrens of many households.
All this degeneration started as a result of Johnson (he might have been Billy-Goat Klanton's daddy) who stated at the time that America could have guns (Vietnam) and butter.
Well today those receipients can have some bread, but they'll never know the comfort of the pre-Johnson era when all children have both parents (and not of the same sex!).
Nothing will change in this country until we elect a leader that will take something larger than a meat axe to the federal government and restore responsibility to the local governments. Now that would truly slash the federal budget, but then we'd have to worry about what to do about those "elected" officials we send to Washington.
That will have to be chapter 2.
