A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Top SIX Reasons I Don't Have a Really Neat Post For Today (Sorry, couldn't come up with 10 this time.)
6. I've been busy photographing my new puppy.
5. I've been learning how to make pickles....(really, I have).
4. I've been practicing my writing skills in hopes that someday I might be as Fine a writer as JH2! (It will never happen, but it is a goal worth working towards!).
3. I've been busy researching how I can become a New York citizen just long enough to vote for my cuzzin, The Mayor. (Hey, if Hillary, from Arkansas, can become a New York Senator, I figure MamaBear, from California, should be able to become a New York voter - for a day!)
2. I am still trying to make the perfect pineapple pie for our wolfie. :-)
1. And, the number one reason I have nothing to post today is because.........(drum roll.....)......I have been working my fuzzy paws to a nub polishing silver and crystal and laying out this fabulous "Finest Buffet" for your enjoyment!
Okay, some of these things didn't happen (but they could have!) ;-)

Pip, she's much too ignorant to waste your time arguing with. Although, you might ask her to put that in writing and tell her you'll be sending it to the proper authorities.

What a powerful graphic for The Pledge of Allegiance...
Know you were in that position as the child of Navy man,
and I replayed that moment numerous times between the ages of 20 and 34 as a military wife ...first part of the Navy - -
and then part of the Air Force - - ![]()
[blank because there were no pictures.
He had to literally slink home from Southeast Asia in 1968,
forced to sit in the very rear of two flights across the country
from San Francisco to get home to us in South Carolina.
The stewardesses were asolutely scathing in their admonitions "to not upset the civilians aboard," B having to wear his uniform to get a Standby Rate to travel...]
[The last flight from Dallas for the day reached Columbia, about 200 passengers debarking...no B -
and then the stewardess got off last, B trailing all alone behind her.]

all military will ESP appreciate this..
@@@
This was taken from today's issue of an email newsletter published by the Air Finance Journal. You gotta love it.
@
Before deploying from Savannah, Georgia, to Iraq by a chartered airliner, the troops of the 48th Brigade Combat Team, a National Guard unit, had to go through the same security checks as any other passengers.
Lt. Col. John King, the unit's commander, told his 280 fellow soldiers that FAA anti-hijacking regulations require passengers to surrender pocket knives, nose hair scissors and cigarette lighters. "If you have any of those things," he said, almost apologetically, "put them in this box now."
The troops were, however, allowed to keep hold of their assault rifles, body armor, helmets, pistols, bayonets and combat shotguns.
