Katrina, a photographic timeline: Powerful proof federal response was NOT slow (warning, many pics)

The near total evacuation of the major American port city of New Orleans, Louisiana was accomplished between Tuesday afternoon, August 30 and Friday afternoon, September 2, 2005. This evacuation occurred while other search, rescue, relief and evacuation operations were simultaneously being conducted throughout the Gulf Coast between approximately Lafayette, Louisiana, on the west and the Florida panhandle on the east - an area of about 90,000 sq. miles, or the size of the entire nation of Great Britain.
I'd say this amazing achievement is the opposite of slow. I'd say that it's a stunning accomplishment and one that demonstrates superb organization, remarkable logistics flow, and the greatness of the American spirit.
From the following photographic timeline, it should be clear to all reasonable people that the failure of government response occurred before the hurricane hit, and it occurred solely at the local and state level.

Unfortunately, some will stop at nothing to bash this administration and play politics...Theresa, what we can do is either print out this thread and send it to as many news outlets as possible, circulate it among our circle of family and friends, or email it to everyone we can think of. Spreading the word in the grassroots is the best antidote to media poison.

You're welcome, BG. I did this in defense of the President, of course, and I know FReepers will know how to use this info to best advantage.

Fantastic thread, Wolfstar!
Many thanks for the hours of work you must have put into the compilation. May it be used wisely, well, and often to dispute the lies of the left!

Brings a tear to my eyes.
PS: Thanks for an excellent recap. There's a lot of work to do to set right the scurrilous demagoguery from the maniacal Left.

May it be used wisely, well, and often to dispute the lies of the left!Hi, kayak. I'm glad you posted that, because my sole purpose in doing this is to get the truth out through the grassroots. We may not have the megaphone of a TV or radio show, but we are many, and together we are very powerful.

I'm not into all the 'new' modern names people are picking for their kids, but, this little girl's name is priceless. And I want to point out, AGAIN, that this is the day after the hurricane, and Americans are there, helping fellow Americans, as only Americans do. Help from the heart. What an amazing ideal God left for us.
Heaven Girod, who is five-months-old, is handed over to a National Guardsman as she is being evacuated from a flooded area in New Orleans August 30. [For emphasis, this was one day after the hurricane hit.]

The baby is cute, isn't she. Did you both see the newborn being carefully evacuated by a big, tough soldier?

Hi, ChefKeith. Would you consider pinging some of your NASCAR thread buddies to this thread. I'm hoping to get the truth shown in these photos spread as far and wide as possible.

Good night, all. If there are any night owls out there, could you help keep this thread bumped up until the morning folks come online? The more we can spread the truth, the better. Thanks to everyone willing to help.

Heaven Girod, who is five-months-old, is handed over to a National Guardsman as she is being evacuated from a flooded area in New Orleans August 30. That's beautiful. Perhaps there are messages meant for us in childrens' names. Nonetheless, this phopto, for me, kinda cuts through all the BS.

I posted a link on the ATRW thread. Many people read that thread and, hopefully, will come over here and check this out, spreading the word even farther.

Did you both see the newborn being carefully evacuated by a big, tough soldier? Sorry, no. I'm behind the curve these days. Although I did donate $500 to the Red Cross this week, and my company has a 1:1 match. Also donated $250 to the Salvation Army, and $250 to CRS.
