Bush-basher Michael Moore, in a posting on his Web site, wrote that "those pesky scientists" had "predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter, making a storm like this inevitable." He further mocked the president with the comment, "Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles."
According to Moore's theory, hurricanes didn't exist before man-induced global warming happened. And in left-looped logic, Bush is to blame for the hurricane because he failed to submit Kyoto to another losing vote. (The Senate disposed of the treaty 1995 to nothing in the 1999 vote.)
Regarding efforts to improve the levees protecting New Orleans, Moore maintained that Bush "specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row," adding that there was a "much more important construction job for them - BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!"
Moore is apparently still having problems with his fact checking. Sadly, even with full funding, none of the flood-control projects would have been completed in time to prevent the surge of water that rushed over the city. And on another woeful note, a concrete wall that was breached had already been completely upgraded in accordance with plans that spanned several administrations.
During NBC's live broadcast of "Concert for Hurricane Relief," rapper Kanye West told viewers that National Guardsmen were given orders to shoot African-Americans in New Orleans...............

I would call the whole circus pitful, if it weren't for how seriously a lot of Americans are taking this anti-Bush hate show.
Definitely the leftist elite at their lowest yet.
I thought the plan was to drop Michael Moore into that breach in the levee.
So I guess global warming affects upper air patterns, high pressure systems, low pressure systems and the like?
it isn't just water temperatures. Hell the water around some parts of South America is damn near 90 degrees YEAR ROUND. Do you hear them EVER getting huge Hurricanes? very very seldom. Why?
Because the upper levels don't support that type of storm of that intensity.
Several factors had to come together at the same time to make this storm as freakishly powerful as it was.
I saw Kirsten Dunst talking about doing public service announcements to change the state of politics in the aftermath of Katrina. She really thought that she'd be doing the world such a big favor that she never realized that she was blatantly seeking to use the misery purely for political gain.
It was absolutely sickening in its shallowness and narcissism.
These people live in situations LIGHT YEARS away from the poor and downtrodden. There are many, most Freepers, who live closer and can identify, maybe even some Freepers who live in a ghetto.
The Hollywood elite probably ignored the beggar at the curbside at LAX when they alighted their stretch limousines, heading for Louisiana.
Also, did any of them go to Mississippi or Alabama?
Wouldn't it be nice to just HEAR about these idiots helping, instead of the choreographed photo sessions.
Leave the goddamn cameras in the truck and help those people.
But I guess if it doesn't happen on TV, it doesn't really happen.
Where are all these Hollyweird maggots when these disasters strike "white" areas of this country? Hmmmmmmm? These racebaiting actors and politicians need their goatsmellin' asses kicked. Bad. They are all bigots loaded with hate.
PHULEEEEZE! Tell me, what helicopter is there that can lift him to do the drop.
8 Chinnooks with a C-130 roped around his neck and all running flat out should do the trick....
But how does a bowl of jelly like that stop water.... He has more holes in him that the fact checking that was done in f911
At the suggestion of writer Michelle Malkin last Friday, I have cobbled together a blogsite called Texas Clearinghouse for Katrina Aid to serve as a clearinghouse for refugee efforts in Texas.
Texas is getting more refugees than any other state -- that's fine, we'll take them all -- but we need help providing them with food, clothing, and shelter.
If you are a refugee, you can information that will help you find relief. If you want to donate or volunteer, you can find someone who needs you.
Right now the site mostly covers Houston and Dallas but I will add various churches, schools, and other charities in San Antonio and Ft. Worth tonight. My wife is down at Reunion Arena in Dallas as we speak handing out care packages and otherwise ministering to the refugees as a representative of her employer.
There are a lot of churches and other organizations in Texas that need help in dealing with the problem and I would be most appreciative if you would get the word out.
Many thanks,
Michael McCullough
