A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos) - 9.6.05

President Bush had a very busy day today, meeting with Secretary of Education, Margaret Spellings and First Lady Laura Bush, to discuss the educational needs of children displaced by Hurricane Katrina and how states might be able to absorb the cost of the large numbers of new students. He also met with the Cabinet to discuss the recovery efforts following the hurricane, and reuniting family members with each other, healthcare provision and finances.

At noon, the President met with representatives from national voluntary organizations to discuss how best to help the Americans who are evacuees from the hurricane. He pledged a full investigation into the response to the hurricane.

The President and First Lady also paid their respects to the late Chief Justice of the United States, William Rehnquist, spending a few moments bowing their heads at his casket.

Continue to pray for the President and the people in the ravaged Gulf Coast region, and enjoy this island of refuge from the blind attacks against our GOOD President on the Daily Dose!

and this man is worth fighting for.

I agree. Some of them can't see the side of a barn though. Those are the ones I just laugh at.

Other times, I play Scarlett O'Hara and leave the combative threads for another day.

Oh OWF!!!!!! Oh OWF, I have to strongly disagree with you for the first time ever.....

Their is nothing "impotent" about Bill Clinton's "phoniness"... His "phoniness" is what the MSM loved about him, he reminded them of themselves

Dogs are also good at cleaning up the crumbs from the kitchen floor should one (theoretically, anyway) hate sweeping the floor and just wipe off the counters letting the crumbs fly all over . . .

You came from the same school as me..... Fractures... No matter the bone, do not warrant a Cast in my opinion, and stitches are only appropriate when Duct Tape cant handle the job... :-)

I have been to the Emergency Room by ambulance far more times than I ever have by my own choice.

I strongly believe that whatever doesn't kill me, will only make me stronger :-)

Morgan's 1260 lb. cow stepped on my toes after the fair a few years ago (not on purpose). I felt and heard them break . . . they swelled terribly and turned all sorts of funny colors, but I didn't think the dr. would do anything (besides take x-rays and come to the profound conclusion they were broken and charge me for it!) so just taped them together too. And took lots of pain meds and didn't walk much for a few weeks. But all in all they healed well. Didn't even lose the toenails. I was just glad Smiles didn't step on Morgan's foot!

Someone from LA called Hannity today and said that Landrieu's father was once mayor of NO, and that her brother is currently Lt. Gov. (which I already knew.) This is why she is trying to look tough in defending the State officials. Nearly everyone knows, at least throughout the South, that Louisiana politicians are notoriously corrupt. All her tough rhetoric can't hide her from that.

New Orleans is a prime example of the "NANNY STATE" and what happens when Democrats have complete control. Mayor Nagin might just open some eyes in the Black Community. He was the Mayer whenh Katrina struck and he was 100 miles north while his people were drowning

Your hubby is right. The ER doctor on my ill-considered trip there for a broken toe said that I could do that, or I could have a full-foot cast. No contest.
BTW, my broken toes healed just fine with the taping thing. The first was 30 years ago, and I don't have any lingering problems.

What a wonderful article by Mr. Lewis, DrDeb. Thanks for bringin it to my attention. I believe as Mr. Lewis does, of course. So I consider it my duty to do everything I possibly can to counter the Left's ugly slanders against this great man.

I have a Katrina timeline in photos that I'm just about ready to post. It's an eye-popper.

I heard reports about some friends who live there. The wood that was submerged in water is splitting, after about three days in water. That is furniture and baseboards. The drywall that got wet has to be replaced. Plaster that gets wet kinda melts all over everything.
Anything that had floodwater in it is probably unsound and unsafe.

I think I came to that conclusion after I broke an elbow at age 6. I had a heavy plaster cast for that. I was in serious pain for weeks. Then the doctor discovered that my pain was because the cast was cutting a serious groove in my arm.

Many doctors treat fractures with "soft casts" these days. Not much different from duct tape.
BTW, I do get stitches if the cut is someplace where I don't want a scar. Head and face have had stitches - knees and arms have scars. :-)

***I can see it now, the cats will lose weight and the dog will be getting bad report cards from the vet about his! LOL***

NOOOOOOOOOOO! I didn't tell you the second part. The cats will eventually refuse to let the dog even taste his food until THEY examine it, even take a little bite of it just to drive the dog crazy. The dog will stay trim just from total frustration. LOL! (Cats have their own way to handle things.)

Yep. So many of those poor people, no pun intended, had no clue what to do and were following their government blindly into the middle of the flood zone. Nagin is trying to play the role of Jesse Jackson- getting p.o.'d when people have the nerve to question his lack of leadership. But the facts and photos speak for themselves.
