A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos) - 9.6.05

President Bush had a very busy day today, meeting with Secretary of Education, Margaret Spellings and First Lady Laura Bush, to discuss the educational needs of children displaced by Hurricane Katrina and how states might be able to absorb the cost of the large numbers of new students. He also met with the Cabinet to discuss the recovery efforts following the hurricane, and reuniting family members with each other, healthcare provision and finances.

At noon, the President met with representatives from national voluntary organizations to discuss how best to help the Americans who are evacuees from the hurricane. He pledged a full investigation into the response to the hurricane.

The President and First Lady also paid their respects to the late Chief Justice of the United States, William Rehnquist, spending a few moments bowing their heads at his casket.

Continue to pray for the President and the people in the ravaged Gulf Coast region, and enjoy this island of refuge from the blind attacks against our GOOD President on the Daily Dose!

The President has treated the Mayor with more respect that he deserves.

And the last time I saw him, the Mayor was making conciliatory remarks.

Our President is spreading God's love to people who don't even know they need it.....

"God bless and protect our Godly President from the slander and assault of evil ones. Silence them, O LORD, we pray. We pray for victory over this new attack, that it might fall in defeat, and the President arise unscathed from these lies about him."

AMEN!

DICK MORRIS believes that President will 'rebound' over the next year and for a change I agree with Morris (this worries me abit)!

BUSH WILL REBOUND FROM KATRINA MISSTEPS

Normally, disasters such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes and such are chances for the president to gain popularity and for his administration to shine. It was the unique and inexplicable inability of the Bush people to understand the magnitude of what they confronted and to respond to it quickly that managed to transform this chance for a big political gain into a monstrous liability.
[Note: I don't agree with this first paragraph; however, the rest of the article makes sense!]

Americans will want to know why the trucks didn’t start rolling when the winds started blowing. And when they quieted, where were the airlifts and evacuations that could have fed and watered thousands and prevented many deaths and much psychic and physical harm?

But make no mistake about it: Every day for the next year, voters will see nonstop scenes of federal relief, rebuilding, renovation and reconstruction along with the empathy, sympathy and compassion these efforts imply in the heart of George W. Bush. He may have had a terrible first week, but he will rebound big time in the months to come.

The aid an administration gives in the aftermath of a momentous disaster will be covered continuously by the media. Every relief convoy will get a wide slice of publicity. As the pumps run and the city and the gulf region drain, the nation will feel a surge of heady optimism at our ability to bounce back from disaster. Happy visuals will replace tragic ones, and interviews with homeowners joyously moving back in will run instead of the tearful stories of refugees.

After Sept. 11, Bush was heavily criticized too. Remember the slowly ticking minutes in Michael Moore’s film “Fahrenheit 9/11” during which Bush continued to read to a class of children even after hearing about the Trade Center attack? (Bush was absolutely right not to bolt from the room and traumatize the kids and the nation even more.) It was not until his bullhorn speech several days later that the president got ahead of the story. Soon his response to Sept. 11 was the mainstay of his popularity and of his claim for a second term on the job.

The recovery from Katrina may well follow a similar trajectory. While the air in Washington will be filled with recriminations about why the levee wasn’t reinforced and why the aid was so slow in coming after the storm hit, the airwaves around the nation will be filled with evidence of the administration’s response, just as they were in the months after Sept. 11.

Oops...........my last statement that should have gone on that previous post, is that the Governor seems to be beyond hope. What a sorry excuse for a leader she is!

Thank you. God Bless the President, I don't believe any other President in history has had such horrendous events happen during their administration. Just 9 months into GWB,s first term America was attacked by terrrorists which took down the WTC and destroyed part of the Pentagon, and now 9 months into his 2nd term the Nation is hit with the biggest natural disaster ever..which practically destroyed NO. GWB has been a tower of strength through both horrible events..

I could stomach Fox today because they seem to have turned a corner and stopped the incessant bashing (maybe because the FACTS prove that he did everything right??)

Anyway, I am privileged to be part of the team that brings these pictures of OUR FAVORITE PERSON IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD for you to see and admire. :)

***Ouch to you, too! Cats are not speaking to me but the bright note in this is that it helps with their diets. They are not eating as much because they have to "stand guard"! LOL***

And what's good about having cats AND a dog is that the cats never clean up their dishes and leave bits and pieces all over the floor. And the DOG will woof then up clean as soon as the cats finish, which will cut down of YOUR cleaning chores.

I didn't see Charles because I had to leave for my meeting, but Mr. OH told me what he had said. We taped it, so as soon as I take a break here, I'm going to watch the panel.

(I wrote a fairly nasty e-mail last night because I was SO miffed at Charles........maybe he read it??)

Our President sure needs our prayers this week. He has been critized non stop, yet he continues to move this country forward.

Every time I think my admiration for him is at its peak, he does something to make it rise even higher.

I really don't think that I've ever admired anyone as much as I do this President (other than my family, of course!)

...he's gone over to the dark side for sure and I will never watch him again.

I think they have some things on him so dancing to their
tune.

I wonder if I could afford her tailor?

(It would help if I had her body, however.........I'm more like her M-i-L who once said, "I wear very nice clothes. They just don't look good on me." ;)

I have not gone to a bash Bush thread in two days and I am soooo happy!

I should probably do that sometime..........but I seem to be drawn to the battle.

In other words, I like to fight.......and this man is worth fighting for.
