I'll make a bold prediction--none of these three will be candidates at the top of the ticket in 2008...

I was half joking, but there are many who consult my opinion before voting, since they know I spend waaayyy too much time
looking into things.

So far, I don't see a reason to bother going to the polls again, neither locally nor nationally.

Just teasing you. I understand how you feel. I am hoping someone good steps up to the plate. It's still early yet!

Wait until the conservatives are forced to run a 3rd party candidate in order to have anyone to vote for. Then she won't be trailing anybody.

Nobody will force the conservatives, that will be their choice.

It will be that or sit home most likely.

Yet another left-wing demonRAT "push poll" trying to influence the populace (those stupid enough, ignorant enough, or distracted enough to vote for these demonRAT-like bureaucrats) into thinking that only RINO's like McCain and Giuliani should run against hitlery.

If the demonRATS are so enamored with Rino Rudy and McLame, then, like you say VRWCmember, they can have their gun-grabbing, gay-loving, abortion-pushing asses!

Yup and politics is ALWAYS compromise.

Compromise is for pussies.

Especially, the kind of "compromise" the demonRATS always seem to demand...

"You Republicans give us everything, and we'll give nothing."

Only RINO's and wimps like the "Insignificant Seven" (McCain, Chafee, Snowe, etc.) are willing to compromise, and turn our strength into weakness, and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I think he would adapt from governing a liberal city to governing a conservative country

I don't want anyone who has to "ADAPT".

Rudy is what he is, and that is, a demonRAT in Republican's clothing.

A true RINO, through and through.

We can not allow him, or any RINO, to lead this country down a gun-grabbing, gay-appeasing, pro-death path - anymore than we can allow a socialist like hitlery.

"Mike Pence
Haley Barbour
George Allen"

I think thats a good line up. Do you think Haley is going to run? Allen is fairly conservative, and probably the best of the remainders....but he doesn't exactly overwhelm you with his intellect and the force of his personality. I wish Romney were a legitimate conservative. I guess there's always Brownback and a few others....

So you're voting (indirectly) for Clinton in 08 I take it. ;-)

I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I'm sure that the Republicans will have someone running that is MUCH more conservative than any of the much-vaunted (by the left-wing media) RINO's that have been mentioned ad nauseum, AND, that can beat hitlery handily.

She has too much negative baggage that will be brought out.

It didn't hurt her in liberal NY, but it won't fly with most of the country.

And wait to see her numbers when everyone realizes that Blanco and Hillary are both big fat liberal Siamese Twinkies.

Barbour is questionable on border control issues though. He also had said he won't run but that was before the hurricane.

Allen would be OK, but I have a bit of a concern as he has a "beltway" air about him...could potentially sellout. At least he voted the right way on a border control bill last month.

Pence is the real deal, but has the least name recognition of the three.

I hope you are right. In 92 I couldn't believe people fell for Ross Perot because of Bush's "compromises" with a Democratic Congress Still that was before the alternative media. The MSM's "worst recession since the great depression" with its catfood eating seniors was quite successful back then. There are many now positioning themselves for a 3rd party run: Buchannan for sure. He's been all over bashing Bush over the war and called for impeachment over immigration. That border issue might explode into a win for Hillary (as unbelievable as that is).

No, No, and HELL NO to Norm Coleman. First off, he's never had any executive experience. Being mayor of Saint Paul doesn't count because the Mayor is only a figurehead there, and plus, Saint Paul is not the United States of America. Second off, the man comes off as extremly plastic. I saw him at the Minnesota State Fair. The man reeked of huckster. His only saving grace might be that he's agressive when it comes to Foreign Policy.

I'm telling you as a Minnesotan, NO!. That goes for Governer Paw-Kerry and his flip flop on taxes.

Yup and politics is ALWAYS compromise. We can refuse to learn from the past and tear ourselves apart (again) or we can compromise and take this MUST WIN and hope to keep moving forward. Fortunately 2008 is a ways off yet with a 2006 election coming next.

There's no dilemma if you don't put politics above all else. I'll have no problems voting my conscience in 2008 if McCain or Giuliani is the nominee. I refuse to vote for a candidate that is pro-abortion and to a lesser extent, pro-gay marriage and anti-gun rights and in general do long-term damage to the conservative movement.

Hillary will gain in the polls. She will put together the most savvy campaign and image people anybody can imagine and run a tough as hell campaign.

Nobody should think otherwise.
