ABC Poll: Bush not taking brunt of criticism
ABC NEWS ^ | 9/5/05 | GARY LANGER

Sept. 4, 2005 — Americans are broadly critical of government preparedness in the Hurricane Katrina disaster — but far fewer take George W. Bush personally to task for the problems, and public anger about the response is less widespread than some critics would suggest.

Full Coverage: Katrina The Polling Unit: Archives

In an event that clearly has gripped the nation — 91 percent of Americans are paying close attention — hopefulness far outweighs discontent about the slow-starting rescue. And as in so many politically charged issues in this country, partisanship holds great sway in views of the president's performance.

The most critical views cross jurisdictions: Two-thirds in this ABC News/Washington Post poll say the federal government should have been better prepared to deal with a storm this size, and three-quarters say state and local governments in the affected areas likewise were insufficiently prepared.

Idiot Pollster is right on target. Another CNN poll trying to create the news instead of reporting what actually happened.

Its amazing since the coverage by the MSM, has been ALL hate Bush. CNN has been the worst by far, although the other networks are just as bad. I am so glad that Sean Hannity came on his radio show to address the MSM today.

"They can't tell the story accurately to save their lives-or their jobs."

Au contraire--lying about it is exactly what DOES save their jobs, at least until they are outed at which time the employers are forced to denounce them.

I have never ever EVER been asked to participate in one of these opinion polls...and no one that I know ever has, either. How about any here...did anyone here receive a phone call for this poll? How about any of the other "approval" polls?

I've been participating in Zogby polls for years. I think it started from an unsolicited e-mail (Z probably bought a mailing list from someone). Once they get your e-mail address, you're in for life (or at least until your addy changes!). About half of the polls are only slightly political (one or two questions). The other half are all politics and great fun for a conservative in a blue state. Of course after I throw in my little one vote dissent, Zogby cooks all the numbers with his "special sauce" and presto, my opinion vanishes just like that.

Regards,
GtG

Yeah those people never cease to amaze me. I knew someone who actually thought Dan Rather was a Republican. Of coarse this person ate crow when it was found out otherwise. People with common sense knew what side he was on, but it took that inicident to show this idiot the light.
How the hell someone thinks the MSM is propping Bush up is beyond me. The funny thing is, I bet they watch and read the MSM to get their news religously, then at the same time lie to themselves.

I got a call once from a pollster..they asked me the first 3 questions and proceeded to tell me that for some reason they couldn't use my opinion..FYI, they have flowcharts on them when they're asked..if person a answers question 1 yes, ask this one, if they say no, ask this one..I guess I followed the chart to where it said I was gonna be a Bush backer or somethin..

Excellent! This is going to invetigated when the dust settles and the water dries. Someone made a decision to save the buses rather than deploy to assist in evacuation. How many people died as a result of this? Criminal IMO.

CNN still pounding the Administration in their "timeline" summary as I write this. Must be they subscribe to Goebbel's theory of repeating lies over and over until they cant tell the truth from the moon.
Anderson Cooper "WHO IS TO BLAME MR.(ex)MAYOR (Blumenthol).
Mayor: "Well there is blame to go around....but the Federal Government is most to blame."

Yada Yada Yada....

They don't get it. It's gotten to the point where Bush is teflon because he gets criticized for everything. Even the rain. When a "Bush critic" comes out of the woodwork, Americans just tune out.

Polling=Proof that when the MSM wants your opinion they will give it to you.

44% still said "blame Bush."

That doesn't surprise me. On AOL's home page today there's a headline -- "'We're Angry, Mr. President': Local Officials Furious at Feds" -- and beneath it is a photo of Bush looking sheepish. Just one of many, many examples of the media gleefully trying to blame Bush. And these things have a way of gaining traction and not going away, despite the facts.

The trouble is, Republicans never fight back. Worse, they're always on the defensive, and they should be on the offensive. For every Democrat out there slyly trying to blame Bush, there should be three Republicans placing blame squarely where it belongs -- on the Democrats of Louisiana (not to mention the people who could have evacuated but didn't).

What a great way to say that.

whenever you make a mistake you could say: "Ooops... I nagin'd up" or I "Blanco'd up." That'a great substitute for other words. :)
