Sean Penn bales water out of a boat with a plastic cup as he and members of his entourage make an attempt to rescue stranded people in New Orleans.
"Give credit where credit is due. He is due some."
I'll give him a cup's worth.
Seriously, this reads like satire, but since Sean Penn is involved, I have to consider the possibility that it's legit.
I can't wait to hear him criticize W for not being able to get hundreds of thousands out of NO while he couldn't even get one out. This was all intended to show up the President. Well Sean, rescuing people is a lot harder than it looks, huh?
Now that he's displayed competence at bailing, put his ass on a levy with a bucket for the next four months.
How did he get into New Orleans? I thought access was limited to essential personnel only.
Floating around in his Kevlar jacket with his entourage for a few minutes in a boat too full to save anyone and he thinks he's really accomplishing something. Great pic BTW!
All appearance and zero function.
Typical for holly wood.
Bingo.
"Fear not, people of New Orleans, help is on the way!"
Hahaha. That kills me. (maybe bcse I'm picturing an animated Sean proclaiming it on an upcoming episode of South Park)
ROFLOL!! Don't you just love it when they show their smarts???
You don't suppose it's some sort of $1000 life jacket? Real kevlar it's not, but sheesh.
They can call it "Master and Commander" lol
He probably did more to impede real rescue efforts going on. They have better things to do than worrying about a stupid actor who only thinks he knows anything about boating, let alone in the swamp that is currently N.O.
Since his plan took 7 days, and it failed, does that mean he hates blacks too?
You know, at first I laughed at Sean for this stupid attempt, then I began to feel guilty - he's at least trying to do something while I sit here in front of my monitor, doing nothing.
Then it dawned on me the damage he could do with this stunt. He could sink and require rescue, he could rescue someone and THEN sink, he could wander into a nest of looters and get himself and anyone with him killed, etc.
I'd forgotten the cardinal rule - know your limitations. Render assistance if you have the ability - if not, stay the h*ll out of the way.
Thankfully, it looks like Sean has reconsidered his trip and I'm back to chuckling at him.
I bet the guy who sold him the boat is still laughing.
Im still laughing. What a great shot. The photograher should get the pulizer prizes. even if it is his own dude.
I bet he didn't waste that cocktail he had in that cup before he started to bail the gumbo out of his boat.
He's no Jean Lafitte.
