U.S. commercial air carriers continue transporting tens of thousands of evacuees from the New Orleans airport to destinations throughout the nation.

Rooftop air rescue efforts continue. One rescue chopper crashed late today. Crew members are reported safe. Gunmen who fired upon bridge repair contractors were killed by law enforcement.

To date, an estimated 70 countries and U.S. businesses have pledged hundreds of millions of dollars, supplies, food and equipment to assist the United States' efforts in Katrina's aftermath. Lt. General Honore described the damage to Mississippi today, "all infrastructure south of Jackson, MS is either damaged or destroyed." Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice visited the devastated areas, and attended Sunday church services in Mobile, Alabama.

Elsewhere, Sean Penn's rescue boat, sans plug and full of his personal entourage, reportedly sank during launch in New Orleans. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) threatened to punch President Bush, and Jefferson Parish President Broussard decried that the bureaucracy of FEMA has committed murder.

Streaming Video:

All information is subject to change. Many stations are relying on their corporate parents to configure and maintain Internet streaming. Because of the intense interest in the feeds, they may be unavailable at times because of network congestion or a problem feeding the video to the streaming servers.

WWL-TV New Orleans - WWL-TV is operating from studios at Louisiana Public Broadcasting. CBS has a relay during the morning and afternoon. When available, use the CBS relay first as they have greater streaming capacity. They have a secondary stream from Yahoo. WWL-TV is also offering a special low-bandwidth audio-only stream for dial-up users.

WDSU-TV New Orleans - The news staff has started to return to temporary news studios near New Orleans. However, expect evening coverage from Hearst-Argyle sister stations WAPT Jackson and WESH Orlando when the New Orleans staff needs to take a break.

WGNO-TV New Orleans - New Orleans' ABC affiliate has returned to the air with WBRZ-TV and launched video streaming with continuous Katrina coverage.

WPMI-TV Mobile, AL - WPMI is webcasting from 5:30am - 10:30pm CDT. When off air, you can view pre-recorded reports on demand. This feed is often unreliable.

WKRG-TV Mobile, AL - This station is providing good coverage of the situation to the east in Mississippi and Alabama. However, the station is now signing off at around 10:30pm CDT like WWL and WPMI.

WJTV-TV Jackson, MS - The CBS affiliate in Jackson is providing live coverage for both the Jackson area and south Mississippi (knowing a lot of media in that area is off the air).

WFAA-TV Dallas, TX - WFAA-TV is here because Dallas is one of the evacuation cities.

United Radio From New Orleans: WWL-AM, WNOE-FM, "KISS-FM," WRNO-FM, WYLD-FM, and WJBO-AM (Clear Channel & Entercom) who have joined forces as United Radio From New Orleans, and they are streaming.

Gulf Coast Storm Network (Clear Channel Radio) - Clear Channel offers radio listeners across the gulf coast access to a simulcast emergency radio service. This service seems primarily focused on Alabama and Mississippi, but does cover Louisiana to some degree.

Then he must be a fool if he thinks he can get the Republican nomination let alone winning the Presidency.

The ones who have arrived here so far are being taken to Camp Dawson, a National Guard training camp in Preston County, WV. Check it out on mapquest. It is in the high mountains and is already down into the 50s at night. They are about a month from having frost in the mornings. Talk about culture shock.

Evacuees have started arriving in Albuquerque too. There will be a HUGH culture shock for gang-bangers if we get some of those. Our locals will give them a fast "attitude adjustment". I don't look for any to stay here long if they have a choice, the desert is just way different from the south, I know from having lived in Texas for five years. I couldn't wait to get home, where I could look out and see for hundreds of miles to the distant mountains.

but realistically, DoD can't do EVERYTHING. we ask them to fight wars all over the world, conduct major parts of homeland defense, and now emergency management activities too?

and if we did have DoD running this, if a natural disaster like this happened again, the left and the media would be trashing DoD. you can't satisfy these people.

I'm not convinced that the freeper who posted it was honest.

With roughly 30,000 people in the Astrodome, surely somebody else would know this and seek out any camera to tell the story. As long as the media is in "Get Bush" mode, this kind of news would be BONG FOX News Alert-ed every 15 minutes.

Ripping on the media for searching for a few cowards that fled, instead of the stories of bravery of the officers that stayed behind. Says he didnt see one officer from Baton Rouge...saw outside agencies before state mutual aid inside N.O.

Now Jessie Jackson taking over the press conference, calling the evacuation a plan to "get the people out of site"

You are not understanding. The city has a responsibility to deploy transportation resources to assist those needing help in evacuating. Especially those who cannot move by themselves, such as invalids, those in nursing homes, etc. If people don't want to get on the bus, that's fine. They have a choice and can bear the responsibility. There were NO buses deployed, rather they were protected. There was plenty of time before the hurricane arrived to get to these people and at least take them to high ground. They may have been uncomfortable but they would be alive. The buses have been saved. One enterprising young man went and got one and drove 100 people to safety in Houston.

I would agree that 25,000 is too many for the Astrodome. The Blue states should be helping Texas more. I know they are doing some. But my county in East Texas now has 8% evacuees.
