Many military convoys passed them on the way to BRLA. amom and crew would give a thumbs up and the soldiers would smile and wave, honk horns etc. Many. many rented trucks and trailers full of supplies passed them too.

My daughters were returning yesterday from a family reunion in SW VA (where I was, also) to Richmond, VA, and saw convoys of military folks all the way heading south to the LA area. THey waved and honked at all of them, and got a lot of waves back (younger daughter relayed this saying, "It makes us so proud to be Americans!") They said they saw a convoy of MD policemen heading that way, too.

I saw it on Fox. That's been my problem all day (for days actually).

I have the TV on all the time and see all kinds of junk, and then miss the good stuff.

THIS one, I just happened to see, but didn't have my VCR running.

Did ya'll hear Clinton on CNN a few minutes ago say that Congress shouldn't abolish the estate tax this week. They should give the money to the poor.

No, no, nothing like that. The problem comes in when the FAA investigation gets to the point at which your official statement (filed with the FAA) is compared to statements you made to the press. *Any* inconsistency is probed, probed, and probed again - and you are grilled over it, even if it's the press' fault for getting it wrong.

On top of that, I don't like the press, so I wouldn't talk to them anyway - and more and more people are like me in that respect.

amom drove 36 hours to volunteer in the shelter. She is fine and doing what I wish I could do.

I sent my daughter to Wal-Mart to buy $20 gift cards, and had her deliver them to local Motels and Hotels, we have many from Mississippi and Alabama here in Midland, Texas.

The Red Cross has put over $350,000,000 in the general disaster relief fund. I don't know if this is good thing or not.

No, but my FlightSafety buddy is a Vietnam vet and former career military who flew Cobras and Hueys, and I talk to him a lot.

I'm also working on my pilot's license as finances permit.

Have you seen the GOP commerical for abolishing the Estate Tax? It's fantastic...one of their best.

I don't know if you saw it...but this morning there was an Admiral speaking on Fox about the PRE hurricane planning and activity that went on...

He was talking about positioning troops and gathering food and water...etc..and that they were doing this on Friday and Saturday before the hurricane.

His timeline was very succinct and beleivable, which kind of puts a lie to ALL of the people that are accusing Bush of being "too slow" and not doing anything before WED or THURS afterwards!
