U.S. commercial air carriers continue transporting tens of thousands of evacuees from the New Orleans airport to destinations throughout the nation.

Rooftop air rescue efforts continue. One rescue chopper crashed late today. Crew members are reported safe. Gunmen who fired upon bridge repair contractors were killed by law enforcement.

To date, an estimated 70 countries and U.S. businesses have pledged hundreds of millions of dollars, supplies, food and equipment to assist the United States' efforts in Katrina's aftermath. Lt. General Honore described the damage to Mississippi today, "all infrastructure south of Jackson, MS is either damaged or destroyed." Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice visited the devastated areas, and attended Sunday church services in Mobile, Alabama.

Elsewhere, Sean Penn's rescue boat, sans plug and full of his personal entourage, reportedly sank during launch in New Orleans. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) threatened to punch President Bush, and Jefferson Parish President Broussard decried that the bureaucracy of FEMA has committed murder.

Streaming Video:

All information is subject to change. Many stations are relying on their corporate parents to configure and maintain Internet streaming. Because of the intense interest in the feeds, they may be unavailable at times because of network congestion or a problem feeding the video to the streaming servers.

WWL-TV New Orleans - WWL-TV is operating from studios at Louisiana Public Broadcasting. CBS has a relay during the morning and afternoon. When available, use the CBS relay first as they have greater streaming capacity. They have a secondary stream from Yahoo. WWL-TV is also offering a special low-bandwidth audio-only stream for dial-up users.

WDSU-TV New Orleans - The news staff has started to return to temporary news studios near New Orleans. However, expect evening coverage from Hearst-Argyle sister stations WAPT Jackson and WESH Orlando when the New Orleans staff needs to take a break.

WGNO-TV New Orleans - New Orleans' ABC affiliate has returned to the air with WBRZ-TV and launched video streaming with continuous Katrina coverage.

WPMI-TV Mobile, AL - WPMI is webcasting from 5:30am - 10:30pm CDT. When off air, you can view pre-recorded reports on demand. This feed is often unreliable.

WKRG-TV Mobile, AL - This station is providing good coverage of the situation to the east in Mississippi and Alabama. However, the station is now signing off at around 10:30pm CDT like WWL and WPMI.

WJTV-TV Jackson, MS - The CBS affiliate in Jackson is providing live coverage for both the Jackson area and south Mississippi (knowing a lot of media in that area is off the air).

WFAA-TV Dallas, TX - WFAA-TV is here because Dallas is one of the evacuation cities.

United Radio From New Orleans: WWL-AM, WNOE-FM, "KISS-FM," WRNO-FM, WYLD-FM, and WJBO-AM (Clear Channel & Entercom) who have joined forces as United Radio From New Orleans, and they are streaming.

Gulf Coast Storm Network (Clear Channel Radio) - Clear Channel offers radio listeners across the gulf coast access to a simulcast emergency radio service. This service seems primarily focused on Alabama and Mississippi, but does cover Louisiana to some degree.

It is true about Jindal...I have seen him interviewed about 4 times since this happened....and he has blamed the federal government every single time...

I have NEVER heard him blame the Governor or the Mayor of NO...

Sen. Vitter has been just as bad...and so has former Sen. John Breaux.

I don't know what it is about LA politicians, but I haven't seen one that hasn't blamed the FEDS..or at least acknowledge that they made mistakes.

When airlines load planes, who do they let on first, women, children and people who need assistance. Those busses could have been used on Friday to get the elderly out of there before the traffic snarlups began. Could everyone have been saved? No, but at least some, especially the most vulnerable could have.

Yes, I noticed that he has caved into the pressure, well, it is good to know now, since for the future we need leaders who know WHO their political enemies really are, and its not the DNC, (who can be beaten easily), but the MSM who control the agenda and write the script.

All lanes, I repeat all lanes, were opened...finally...and...the buses could've...should've...rolled.

Jindal said what? That Federal red tape was delaying rescues? That security was delaying them?

Precisely.

Their's has been a guilty reaction since two days before the storm, as soon as there was a chance it would hit NO.

They knew they were doomed, personally, that the truth would be exposed, and tis explains their every move since.

You watch.

This isn't going to stay a secret very long.

They know it won't, knew it wouldn't, hence the desperation and the inaction.

Their only hope of survival was if NO "dodged a bullet", and when it didn't, we saw them come completely apart, a process that is continuing to this day.

Might be they dangle, feet to the fire for a while, might be the media picks it up first, either way, it is fascinating to watch.

Deer in the headlights.

That particular thread was pulled because it was posted by someone other than the original poster. The Admins pull threads for various reasons. Sometimes they are duplicates. Sometimes they are full texts from a source that FR is not allowed to post from (NYT, WP, etc).

I am as convinced of this as I can be without laying my eyes directly on the evidence. There is no way you would be scrambling to keep the Feds out with a then Cat 5 headed your way.

Exactly. They came right out of the gate whining, crying, and b*t*hing. Something smells to high H E L L.

The appearance of Jamie Witt is a sure sign of CYA.

The traffic jam was because they did not implement contraflow (make both sides of the highway flow only one way).

If they had implemented contraflow, the traffic jams would have been almost nonexistent.

Sunday evening the traffic was flowing pretty well. I was surprised at how few were on theat 4 lane after it was opened up to go just one way.

So you are saying that the busses got caught in traffic getting out of town?

I don't think so, since not one person ever turned a key in the ignition in one of them

Short news conference by Brown, Cherkoff and Honore. Answered questions from reporters and C said would take only one more. That one went to Honore.

If you get to watch it again, you see that Chertoff was suppose to answer the question and Honore stood in front and said "who said that? That's BS" Chertoff wisely stepped back (fear or respect or both).

They've all been listening to WWL870 AM too much. All they spout is the Nagin/Broussard party line. It's Bushe's fault. Jindal thinks he's getting out front on this.

WRONG!!!

I've always thought our 2008 candidate for POTUS would probably be an unknown who will emerge. Barbour/Honore 2008? Honore/Barbour 2008?

Or Barbour/Honore. I would LOVE this combo!

Could be lying on the dimples and maybe landed to pick up people standing on the road. That would account for him not being on the pavement.

Except that the Coast Guard chopper that was first on the scene afterwards only picked the crew up, there not being anyone else around to evac.
