Wasn't there an old Star Trek that had a computer named Landrieu, that ran everybody on the planet? And every so often, everyone would go berserk and attack, murder, and rape each other?

"And Louisiana's unique wetlands provide our state with a buffer zone from natural disasters such as hurricanes."

Uh huh...

"I didn't watch any news shows today"

Isn't she the one who wanted to slap President Bush?

Haven't you heard? Nagin didn't use the schoolbuses to evacuate the poor of New Orleans because "they don't have toilets." Think of the 80% of the New Orleans residents who drove out of town in their toiletless automobiles.

The New New Orleans.... wet lands.... makes alot of sense to me instead of placing a half million people between to levees that may or may not withstand the next hurricane or whatever may befall them in decades after rebuilding.

While searching for survivors of the Starship Archon which disappeared under mysterious circumstances, the crew of the Enterprise encounters a culture of zombies controlled by the computer Landru. Landru regulates the life of all planet members, purging their systems of violence and anger at specified times known as "festivals" and leaving them blankly contented for the rest of the time. Landru succeeds in absorbing Sulu, and attempts to do the same with the rest of the crew. When Kirk points out to Landru that he has violated his program by allowing human culture to stagnate, Landru disintegrates in a shower of sparks and frees the planet from his control.

Her posturing included this statement last night on Fox News, "Of course we will rebuild, the spirit of the people of New Orleans is TITANIC!"

didn't someone from that part of the country once say 'stupid is as stupid does'...

I think that was Forest Gump, wasn't it? He could probably have managed the crises in Louisiana better than the governor and mayor did. I'm originally from Louisiana and I have called Landrieu's office and told them she owed the state an apology for embarrassing us with that disgraceful tirade this morning on national TV. I also asked what had she done to help the people. Running her mouth and showing her stupidity isn't helping anyone, and I hope the people of LA. let her know she's on her way out.

"But our wetlands have been eroding. As I have said before, in order for us to protect America's energy supply and transportation needs, the federal government must join with the people of Louisiana to preserve America's wetlands."

It's just amazing that she used this press release to make a totally unrelated point.

These democrats are lousy spinmeisters who capitalize on everyone else's grief.

She's a real wackjob.

I'm getting pissed at the way the Dems and their mouthpieces in the newspapers are trying to shift the primary blame from this tragedy to Bush, instead of those primarily guilty - like this wackjob useless Governor and that idiot mayor of NO
