Sept. 4, 2005 Americans are broadly critical of government preparedness in the Hurricane Katrina disaster but far fewer take George W. Bush personally to task for the problems, and public anger about the response is less widespread than some critics would suggest.
Sampling, data collection and tabulation for this poll were done by TNS.
In an event that clearly has gripped the nation 91 percent of Americans are paying close attention hopefulness far outweighs discontent about the slow-starting rescue. And as in so many politically charged issues in this country, partisanship holds great sway in views of the president's performance.
The most critical views cross jurisdictions: Two-thirds in this ABC News/Washington Post poll say the federal government should have been better prepared to deal with a storm this size, and three-quarters say state and local governments in the affected areas likewise were insufficiently prepared.

ABC apparently does not understand that the easiest way to promote conservation is through higher prices. That's basic market economics, not that people who went to J-school necessarily have any understanding of economics.
Someon needs to do a photoshop poster of this. On the left, that idiot black rapper ("black" to distinguish from idiot white rappers such as Eminem) on the stage next to Mike Myers at the fundraiser. "Bush hates black people."
On the right, the photo of Bush hugging those two black women in Mississippi, with an appropriate quote.
Prayers for ALL!
You said a mouthful there!
As we are well aware, there are over 59,000,000 that are not "intellectually honest", or are otherwise restricted in their intellectual capacity. That is not even counting the career criminals, druggies and social misfits that have never seen a voting booth, or participated in a poll.
You can just feel the desperation from ABC. The moonbats are stunned to the bones, that they can't get their desired condemnation of Bush communicated to the masses.
President Bush has come across to the nation as determined to get help to the people in New Orleans, and, to the moonbats' collective dismay, the largest evacuation in US history has been seen by the public.
It's always 'the sample stupid'!
Notice that this news story neglects to provide a detailed overview of the polling sample used to generate the results cited!
Nevertheless, we can know with certainty that it overpolled Democrats. Why? 1.) ALL current pollsters are oversampling Democrats/Democrat-leaning Independents, 2.) polls completed over a HOLIDAY weekend always oversample D/DLIs, and 3.) at least 4 RED states (I'm including Texas) were severely impacted by Katrina, forcing pollsters to oversample respondents from BLUE states (even more so than they normally would)!
Given the polling realities cited above, coupled with the MSM's grossly negative coverage of the President during this crisis, we should regard these results as stunningly positive! [And as the LOW benchmark for approval -- an unbiased, REPRESENTATIVE polling sample would have generated even better ratings for the president!!!]
NOW, we must 'get busy' and start calling/e-mailing the various news agencies with some much need feeback regarding their grotesquely BIASED news coverage!
truth bump as far as the eye can see!!!!
These scumbags spend the entire week smearing the President, then they can't wait to find out if they succeeded or not. The only thing that stinks worse than the SuperDome right now is the American news media.
There's plenty of blame to go round. People will figure this out. EVERYBODY screwed up. It will all equal out.
Everybody knows Lousyanna is a cesspool of corruption and Nwalins is the heart of it. The GOP's not going to lose any voters over this. The balance of power is not going to shift.
The more the Rats howl the more good folks will realize how evil they are.
But Heineken just found it's new "It's All About the Beer" ad.
My jaw is on the floor. I thought the public would be swayed by the media onslaught. I'm absolutely shocked.
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
No one starving in the welfare queen and race-baiting poverty pimp line up. And none of them yet has done anything (other than saving the mayor's stash, crack pipe and bong) positive either.
Democrats are living proof that you can fool some of the people all of the time.
Who's in the picture?
*Snicker*
