Sen. Mary Landrieu threatened the president of the United States with physical violence on Sunday, saying that if he or any other government official criticizes New Orleans police for failing to keep civil order in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina - "I might likely have to punch him - literally."
"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week."
It is illegal to threaten the president with physical violence.
The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees, and demanded that he stop using the disaster for "photo-ops."
"The president came here yesterday for a photo-op," Landrieu charged, while surveying the disaster scene via helicopter with "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos in tow. "He got his photo-op but we are never going to get this fixed if he does not send us help now."
Landrieu also blamed Bush for cutting funding for levee improvement, before bursting into tears on camera.
In recent days, Louisiana officials have been criticized for bungling evacuation and rescue efforts. One of those officials, Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, is Sen. Landrieu's brother.

What truths you are grasping about this whole event could fit into a thimble. Time to school yourself like the rest of us have, noob (though I'm getting a whiff of troll looking through your past posts). Start with the mayor, the city, their published plans & lack of implementation of said plan, their refusal to properly build the levee to recommended Cat 4/5 standards, the governor's role and responsibilities, the state disaster plan & lack of implementation. When you get thorugh all those layers of imcompetence and GROSS CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE, maybe we can armchair quarterback on how the constitutionally & legally hamstrung FEDS could possibly have done better.

Slick willie made numerous threatening phone calls around the state of Louisiana to get the vote out, or at least get the votes into the machines.

Sen. Well, when 60 per cent of the LEO's flee the city, you must expect some consternation directed at them.

He lost his home in NO. He has had a higher profile locally. Thanks for the update. For health reasons, and for the safety of my TV, I am not watching the news coverage.

Thats right Mary get your cheap-shots in before the facts start seeping out about how culpable the dems are in this mess. Try and build up that hatred for Republicans in hopes the people will not listen to the facts when they come to light.
This democrat state literally left this city and those people to die with their "caring and planning".
That having been said just how many times did this type of dem screaming happen after 9-11 only for Bush to let them scream loudly and longly only to look stupid when facts came out. This is a rope-a-dope.

This wench has lost it; just totally lost it.

Perhaps some of these political types could use an old sergeant on the staff. You are right, every man has his limit. It just seems though that with these malfeasant losers they reached their limit before they started. Way too defensive, way too early. Hell, it's only been six days.
They all know--including the police who have booked--that they have f*ed up bigtime from top to bottom; years of collusion, corruption, and willful negligence are coming home to roost.

Good job with your letter, MamaB. Shame on the left for this campaign of lies. How dare they.

This is an old court. We have gone a very, very long time without any turnover. So that means we are now going to go into a period of high turnover.
To: sweetliberty
We are on the same page liberty. Regardless of anything else the Pres or his administration says or does, unless they start publicly rejecting this blatant RAT attempt to spin blame away from themselves, the perception of weakness sets in and blame follows to the Republicans. This is the time for the Republicans in general, and President Bush in particular, to allow themselves some righteous anger and set the record straight. Day by day, or hour by hour or minute by minute if necessary. I am, as you obviously are, fed up with the turn the other cheek mode we always find ourselves in. While the public is watching we must keep the record straight. Later attempts at logic will be lost once the RATS and MM regain control of what gets on TV. OH, I also think threats to the Pres call for more than an apology. Jail time and lawyer fees should be applied as they are to all of the rest of us.

That's right Ms. Landrieu. Thrash harder.

Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Mary Landrieu, Kathleen Blanco - bipedal mammals LOL. I was thinking more like bivalve mollusks, but you're right, they do nurse by sucking off the teat of federal largess.

Your worthless Mayor and Governor are chiefly responsible for this fiasco, you two-bit slut.
And if you want to try to punch someone in the mouth, freep mail me and I'll give you my address.
