Louisiana Constitution: Blanco Blew It
Louisiana State Constitution

State of Louisiana
Constitution
Article IV, Section 5: Duties and Responsibilities of the Governor
Pp (i), section (J): "Commander-in-Chief. The governor shall be commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the state, except when they are called into service of the federal government. He may call out these forces to preserve law and order, to suppress insurrection, to repel invasion, or in other times of emergency."
Why have none of the Dinosaur Media noted this? Blanco blew it big time. She should have mobilized the Guard imemdiately after the storm instead of crying on TV and doing nothing, waiting for the federal government to save her. While 3,000 LA Guard members are in Iraq, 30,000 others aren't. That dog don't hunt.
The MSM continues its loathsome obfuscation of events.

Those aren't busses.... That's Nagin's Navy docked on Lake Blanco!

Well, it's good to know that some are recognizing and reporting the truth.

And all the MSM are doing polls asking if the people in Louisiana were well served by their Governor.
Just dreaming.

There, that should fix it for now.

I read over the pertinent portions of the Louisiana Constitution yesterday. From what I could see, there is every reason for Blanco and Nagin to be impeached.

Well, I'm shooting back (pardon the pun) when people around me whine or try and blame yet another human catastrophe on the president. I might even go so far as to say "by all means, criticize the president where criticism is due....like his failure to protect our borders, or his efforts to be the biggest spender to ever occupy the White House, but don't blame him for this! He did his job. There is plenty of blame to go around on this one and he cannot regulate the incompetence, foolishness and downright stupity of others, and contrary to popular belief, he cannot call down natural disasters on a city where poor blacks are in the majority."
I am so over the MSM, the "civil rights" leaders, the whining, do nothing socialists and the morons out of Hollywood who think their appearances and opinions actually matter. They have the combined effect of fingernails on a chalk board, screaming tires, boom boxes that vibrate your windows, yapping dogs and that horrible clunking of metal when something suddenly goes seriously wrong with your car. The scriptural reference to "sounding gongs and clashing cymbals" comes to mind, too. I have a heartfelt message for these bloviating buffoons.....

I guess the Gov and reports were pissed that the LA Constitution is sexist and chose to ignore the whole thing. [SAR]

Ah, but note that it says, "He may call out these forces..." So, Ms Blanco goes free on a technicality.

While 3,000 LA Guard members are in Iraq, 30,000 others aren't. You might want to double-check your numbers.
I've seen the 3,000 deployed figure but those reports indicated that the total LA NG strength is 11,000 rather than 33,000. Sorry I don't have a link but I'll see if I can find one. On the other hand, that 30,000 figure might be the total available to LA including those coming in from other states.

In the pic of the muni buses appears to be a parking lot full of cars that also appear to be dry. I wonder if some of the city workers were able to save their cars?
