I didn't realize he was this close to death. It's sad what a character he was. And I thank The Lord for him...he help to bring the court to a more conservative stance.

Author Bio: William Rehnquist has been the Chief Justice of the United States since 1986. Prior to his nomination as Chief Justice by President Ronald Reagan, he served as an Associate Justice on the Court for Fifteen Years. He has previously served as an assistant attorney general at the Justice Department during the Nixon administration. He is the author of several other books on Supreme Court history.

The Chief Justice's legacy will be to leave behind a conservative court with these two appointments by the President. Awesome individual was the Chief Justice!
