"He will sit at the table for me, and he will be my voice at the table," Gov. Kathleen Blanco said.

But who will think for you?

Nagin will hire the best criminal defense lawyer he can find.

Isn't that "Bag of Cash" Rodney from day minus one as Clinton's Arkansas Transportation Secretary?

Yes, he was implicated in a scheme to get a $35,000-per-month job for Roger Clinton from an Alabama airport developer.

He was also reported to have placed a bag of cash on Clinton's desk shortly before he became trasnportation secretary for Arkansas, if I've got the right guy. I'm fairly sure it was him, because he got the same position at the federal level.

"I like to hire the smartest people in the country," she added.

Unlike the people of Louisiana when they 'hired' you!

In that case, she hired the wrong guy.

Louisiana's version of Colonel Henry Blake (think M.A.S.H.) has finally hired a Corporal Radar O'Reilly to run her camp. Hopefully, she will just sit quietly and sign the documents placed in front of her. Evidently, it's the only thing she is qualified to do.

For more than one reason. Her constituency just moved to Texas.

She may be incompetent, but at least she is not totally stupid!

Maybe. But I would imagine even someone as nutty as Carville would not be so stupid as to associate with them. In my short 35 years of life I can not recall such an horrendous display of leadership (ok maybe carter in 1979)

Unlike GWB and Giuliani these 2 were not ready for prime time.

She is if she ever hopes to hold elected office again.

The Wash Post is reporting that Bush asked her to turn over control of the troops, and she refused for partisan reasons.
