"count em and weep"

Once I get past the anger and the blame it really does bring a tear to my eye to think of all the people that could still be living if these buses and a more forceful evacuation had been made.

look at all the cars in the 2nd picture. Who did they all belong to?

It won't be long before the magnitude of Nagin's yellow submarine fleet disaster is found out. If I were his family I would be keeping a close eye on him. He will not be a well man.

And this must only be a small portion. How many students do you think are/were transported on school buses in NOLA each day?

Something is very wrong here. Words cannot describe what has happened. 420 buses with 60 people per trip at 4 hours per trip for 36 hours is over 226,800 people evacuated.

A policeman on tv last night was hopping mad. He said a third of the police force took off and never reported for duty.

I just had a "friend" from Calif. call & say that this is what Bush did & he doesn't know what is going on in NO. This is the "cowboy" I helped vote in, Blah, Blahblah.

I told him funny how FL didn't have as much problems thru 4 Hurricanes. What is the Difference? (Jeb Bush perhaps?). Totally made his head spin.

Well, that is when you pick up the phone and call the Governor and ask for the authority needed to safe guard the citizens that you are sworn to protect. The ball
was dropped big time here.

look at all the cars in the 2nd picture.

What about the traffic jam around Walmart when it was being looted. You couldn't get in the parking lot. Where did those cars come from?

Nagin is definitely a short fuse. Did you see the thread where he says the CIA will off him because of his bashing of the Gov and Pres Bush?

Wow MD is only 24 hrs behind FR! Finally seems like he's catching up.
Now the MSM will be at least 24 hrs behind Drudge.
Think about it, Mayor denies he has authority to declare an evac order.
Why?
Was he denied the authority by someone with more authority?
Possibly.
The Gov is next up the chain of command.

Why did the Gov delay the evac order?
Who denied her the authority to give the evac order?
Next up the chain is Senator Mary L.

Sen Mary L. was on TV the day of Katrina, front and center to blame GWB
for the use of troops in Iraq being responsible for greivous injury to Dim voters.
Who could coerce Mary L. to delay the evac order? The shadow of the shrew is all over this farce of "responsible" govenment of the people. It may seem a bit convoluted, but it has motive (Blame W).
The only other explantion is TOTAL INCOMPETANCE in which case the Bunko Blancos should step aside
and let the competant take charge to prevent any more loss of life, and property!

The again maybe both incompetance and treason!

Several people have pointed out that the Senior Senator has no legal controlling authoritytm (AlGee) over the La Gov. But allah the rats take marching orders from the DNC. Did you catch the ventriloquist act Mary L pulled on the Gov? Oh yeah Mary L's dad was a former mayor of NO, and her brother is the current AG.

I thought I heard the Mayor saying he "didn't want no school buses," but instead wanted Greyhound Buses. I guess its better to commandeer private property (Greyhound buses) than it is to use government property (school buses) that is at your disposal.

Was the problem that the public employees union that covers the normal school bus drivers did`nt have any stipulation in the contract to call them to this duty or allow for non union drivers to perform this task?
Not likely that a dem politician would cross the union.
I don`t know and would appreciate any info from someone who does.

I believe you've been called. (see post # 16.

I'll raise you.

Nagin is, without a doubt, a complete and utter failure as both a man and a politician. His audacity to blame others for his inadequicies and malfeasance in the requirements and duties of his elected office, has not and will not go unnoticed.

You see ... the entire United States of America has watched and recorded this event.

My guess is he did not want to use the yellow ones from anywhere because someone may ask " Hey Mayor, where are you buses?" This is a question he must now surely be fearing.

Someone who has a decent graphics program might try to make a semi-transparent skull with the white busses as teeth...or as the mayors teeth.

Please understand, I wasn't arguing with your position - I was just explaining how they shall (and will) get away with their excuses for the lack of action.

The utter lack of response on the part of all levels of government in LA is absolutely criminal in my opinion.
