Keep in Mind This Article Was Published Before The Hurricane Hit Land

...snips from the attached article:

President Bush has already declared an emergency for Louisiana and Mississippi, which along with other parts of the northern Gulf coast states lie in the direction of the hurricane.

"That's why we are taking this unprecedented move," Mayor Ray Nagin said at a news conference that was broadcast live. "The storm surge most likely will topple our levee system."(Knowing the levees would fail Nagin did What?)

With a state of emergency declared, federal emergency assistance was being deployed and national guard troops were being prepared.

Preparations to protect life and property should be completed in the evening, it said."We are facing a storm that most of us have long feared," Mr. Nagin said in the news conference.

Many of Louisiana's national guard forces are currently deployed to Iraq(many = 3000 of 11000), but the general in charge of the Louisiana troops "has 1,500 troops ready to be deployed, with another couple of thousand that they can tap into pretty quickly," Mr. Nagin said in the CNN interview.

Information that goes against the "It's all Bush's fault" meme is not being accepted at this time. Please report to CNNABCNBCCBS for re-education.

"If we can't respond faster than this to an event we saw coming across the Gulf for days, then why do we think we're prepared to respond to a nuclear or biological attack?'' -- Newt Gingrich

Well NEWT I hate to break this to you BUT WE probably can't and who the hell will go into an area where a DIRTY NUKE was set off

That is why we have to get the terrorists where THEY LIVE

How is it that the U.S. military can conquer a foreign country in a matter of days, but can't stop terrorists controlling the streets of America or even drop a case of water to desperate and dying Americans?

MORE BS

It wasn't days and it took months to build up the force etc etc eetc

Stranded tourists and others unable to leave are able to use the Louisiana Superdome as a shelter. With a state of emergency declared, federal emergency assistance was being deployed and national guard troops were being prepared.

In televised remarks today, President Bush urged people in threatened areas to evacuate to safe ground. "We cannot stress enough the danger this hurricane poses to Gulf Coast communities," Mr. Bush said, adding that everything possible would be done to help them.

hmmmm....looks like dubya does "care about black people."

Nagin knew the levees would fail. Nagin knew all too well that many poor and/or uninformed would not leave. Nagin knew exactly what kind of criminal underclass would never leave. Nagin had over 200 school buses and who knows how many municipal buses. Nagin had access to thousands more LA National Guard, as well as prepositioned disaster caches. LA was already pre-declared a disaster and Nagin was begged by Bush, the director of the hurricane center and God knows who all else. It's pretty obvious.

It's all Bush's fault.

Posted on many threads are pictures of buses sitting in parking lots that are flooded.
The question I have is this.Did they not move because of lack of leadership,no order or request to utilize them for evacuation,or because of difficulties that did or may have arose from a civil service union in regards to the drivers?

The DRUDGE REPORT has this caption, "WHY DIDN'T YOU DEPLOY THE BUSES DURING THE MANDATORY EVACUATION, MAYOR?...".

Here is the URL that links to the picture. You will love it. MSM beware! The truth is leaking out. (Poor choice of words, sorry.)

""The storm surge most likely will topple our levee system."(Knowing the levees would fail Nagin did What?)

Well well, caught on tape, so to speak. And nagging NAGIN did what? NOTHING. He gambled, like he was doing with the money over the years that was supposed to go towards upgrading the levee system and supporting infrastructure. What did nagging NAGIN do with that levee money (through the levee board) he bought/build Casino's. Slowly the truth comes out.

Over three and one half years to prepare for D-day Normandy invasion, almost another year to get across the Rhine and help defeat the Nazis.
