Removed... Hell I'm starting to think that he might ought to be charged with negligent homicide.

No he cannot...It would be RACIST

A great find. The guy had no business even being at home 24 hours before a Category 5 was scheduled to hit his city. He should have been in a command center.

Backhoe - what is the one keyword I should look for in the list to make sure this gets added to your archived list?

Can this guy be removed from power, and have someone appointed ?What power? The city is going to be a ghost town in a matter of days. It will be years before it's inhabitable again.
The reason Bush agreed to 100% financing instead of the usual 75% to 25% funding is because with that meager 25%, it allowed the city to be in charge of letting contracts.

This guy's an idiot.
Can he be removed?
I think he already has and is only a figure-head. NORTHCOM is in charge, and now you're seeing action.
In any disaster, the local government is the first-line response team. Clearly, NO's mayor failed miserably at that duty. He attempted to place blame, but I think in the long-term he'll be held to account for his failures.

Some enterprising Freeper should make a Guiliani vs. Nagin poster. One picture (two in this case) is worth a thousand words.

I suppose we could remove Max Mayfield and appoint a new National Hurricane Center director, but I'm quite impressed by his work. If only people (other than Jeb Bush) would take him seriously when his staff prognosticates a deadly serious threat.

Can this guy be removed from power, and have someone appointed ? I'm sure before it's all said he will state:
"I was for getting the people out, before I was against it"
and will testify before the Grand Jury under oath:
"I did NOT have second thoughts about evacuation with that hurricane Ms. Katrina".

Can this guy be removed from power, and have someone appointed ?He's "mayor" of an empty shell now. I say we let him remain mayor as long as he wants, since he can't hurt anyone else as long as NO remains unpopulated.
To: Echo Talon
Removed from power? How about prosecution for gross negligence and malfeasance of office? Maybe even negligent homicide?

Question for my education:
Hearing all about the fleet of busses, turned submarines by the flooding: were the interstates jammed with evacuees up until the 175 mph winds hit? If yes, this would leave little room for a fleet of busses to make their departure. On the other hand, if the interstate traffic petered down to a few stragglers prior to the full brunt of the storm, its all the more damning for the mayor.

Katrina pretty well did that.
He is a mayor without a city.

The City of New Orleans as we knew it is dead. Nagin is Mayor of nothing.
I suggest the creation of the Orleans Military Recovery and Reconstruction District to include everything from St. Tammany Parish south to Plaquemines and as far west as is needed. I suggest Gen. Honore being put in charge of the new District and Sherriff Harry Lee being put in charge of a sub-command of Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes. I'm sure there are other better ideas, but those are my best ideas for the problems at hand.

Can this guy be removed from power, and have someone appointed ? He'll be treated like a hero while Bush is excoriated. Count on it. In fact, it's already happening among liberals. I heard one say, "Oooooh, I have a crush on him!" when she heard him cussing everybody on the air.
Needless to say, the MSM will play right along and heap shameless praise upon Nagin.

Does anyone know the official chain of command for state government? I'm sure it does not jump straight from the State Governor to the President of the United States. Are the state senators in the chain and possibly responsible? By the way; I have been reading here for a few months. This situation pushed me to register and post today. Any guidance is appreciated.
