National Hurricane Director had to call Nagin at home Saturday night to plead: "Get people out..."

MAYOR CRITICIZED EVEN BEFORE LEVY BREAK. National Hurricane Center Director had to call Nagin at home Saturday night to plead: "Get people out of New Orleans." "The criticisms of Nagin came from above as well. Numerous officials urged him to evacuate the city, but he worried about the legality of ordering people out when New Orleans has few safe hurricane shelters. Also, National Hurricane Center Director Max Mayfield in Miami called Nagin at home Saturday night and told him: Get people out of New Orleans.

''I could never sleep if I felt like I didn't do everything that I could to impress upon people the gravity of the situation,'' Mayfield said. ``New Orleans is never going to be the same.''

When a grim Nagin issued the mandatory evacuation order Sunday, he said: ``We are facing a storm that most of us have feared . . . God bless us.''

This goon was just going to sit tight. Whatta fool.

Eggggzaaactly.

If I was corrupt Louisian politician I'd be damned scared. They will be looked at under a microscope.

Nogginhead didn't care about those people in the NO ghettos. He figured, hey, let them drown. They don't matter.

Don't despair at those pointing the finger at the Preident It's not going to wash. And after that9=11 ommission commission Americans will be watching any formal "studies" by any blue ribbon panel with a jaundiced eye. Not to mention the blogosphere, now at full steam ahead and ready to keep history from being altered.

New Orleans' and Louisiana's attitude toward the welfare class they helped creates just despicble.

Americans are not stupid. We know what we saw with our lying eyes.

Thos poor people just didn't matter. Like somebody else said on another thread, they get them out to vote. And that about sums it up.

How heart-breakingly pathetic.

Great--he worried about the legality of "ordering people out when New Orleans has few safe hurricane shelters [whose fault is that]" but did not seem to worry about herding them into the Superdome and leaving them to suffer their own fate.

BTW-he weathered it out in Baton Rouge? Correct?

Does he have any functioning brain cells?

"Louisiana's evacuation plan called for those buses to be used! From the Federal Response Plan at http://www.ohsep.louisiana.gov/plans/frp2003.pdf

Page 13 5. The primary means of hurricane evacuation will be personal vehicles. School and municipal buses, government-owned vehicles and vehicles provided by volunteer agencies may be used to provide transportation for individuals who lack transportation and require assistance in evacuating."

Good find. Bears repeating.

Unreal!!!!!!! With all those extra school buses, he could have had evacuated thousands!!

He would have, but Bush didn't pay for the gas. So it's Bush's fault.

There was a moonbat here who said that it was armchair quarterbacking, "hindsight bull****", to point this (image) out.

But it's perfectly OK to blame Bush? Yup. Global warming, racism, needed troops in Iraq, etc, etc. Look whose ox is being gored, hey, Mr. Moonbat? With Nagin it's hindsight BS?

With Eleanor Cliff screeching in the background

Ugh, the estrogen deprived Eleanor. She's so brittle and dried out I'm surprised she can sit down without breaking.

Screeching is the perfect description for what she considers communication.

He is a mayor without a city.

I'm sure he can find room on Cindy's bus heading to DC.

The MSM already has everyone brainwashed over this ..The general public in the nY area is all falling for it..Everyone I've spoken too ( except my 2 good buddies ..one X Marine and the other a buckley conservative ) all are slamming bush and have no clue to the real facts. I seem to be a lone voice in metro NY..Im sure internationally the same is true by now..Buch bashing is epidemic at this stage

Well not willingly.

But there's some things that are just black and white plain as day. America watched this entire disaster upon our TV's. We KNOW what we saw!

The MSM can play all the boohoo games they want.

I really don't think it's going to wash. Really, really I don't. Comes a time when truth must be looked in the eyeball. This is that time.

The Lamestream will be marginalized even more than they are now if they keep playing the tune.

So no, I don't think they'll stop. I think they'll play the boohoo game with a little help from the Dems.

Remember, along with all the MSM talking, the pictures and video told the story. Those pictures of those buses under water alone are worth ten million lies by the LSM.

It won't wash. I'm sure of it.

You underestimate how totally stupid a huge section of the American public actually can be. Millions believe aNYTHING they see on the nightly news , no matter how absurd or false. I talked to people all weekend who totally believe this is Bush's downfall...

My Mom lives down there and told me on the phone Sunday before the hurricane hit that people should learn to "never say never" because Nagin had publicly stated that he would never order a mandatory evacuation for New Orleans, but he had just done it. That comment took on a whole new meaning after hearing the things coming out in the aftermath. Makes me believe anyone who says they pleaded with him to evacuate people, but he didn't want to hear it.

Ah, I wouldn't call it stupidity.

Americans are busy living their lives, carrying this country on their backs. They're not news junkees like us.

But people living busy lives can see a video or picture. This particular disaster was broadcast on TV's 24/7.

Americans SAW it all. They know what they were seeing no mind the handsome broadcaster in the background.

They won't be able to spin this failure away. Give it time.

This man, Nagin...he is NOT getting off the hook on this. They can try to Blame Bush all they want but Bush is in D.C. while this bastard is in N.O. with over 200 busses sitting in a parking lot all weekend before the storm hit.

He did nothing to help these people.
