Hurricane headline upsets Dodge City residents with evocation of lawless town

The headline on the front page of Friday's New York Post was pure tabloid: "Dodge City. Rape and anarchy in New Orleans."

The story accompanying the headline details the chaos and despair engulfing New Orleans as its residents try to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. But Dodge City is not mentioned anywhere in the story.

Ford County Clerk Vicki Wells said she was not aware of the headline and story until late Friday afternoon, when a Globe reporter brought them to her attention. She said once she read the headline, she felt disgusted.

"The implication that Dodge City would treat its citizens in that way is disgraceful," she said. "Dodge City has a reputation from history of being a wild Western town, but Dodge City and Ford County are no longer like that."

Post spokesman Howard Rubenstein said in a phone interview that he had talked with the newspaper's editors about the headline, and they told him they had not meant to offend Dodge City or its residents.

"It was a reference to American folklore, where at one time Dodge City had that reputation," he said. "But it certainly does not have that reputation now."

He said the editors thought they had made it clear under the main headline that the story referred to the chaos in New Orleans.

Dodge City Commissioner Jim Sherer said he learned about the headline after a friend of his sent him an e-mail telling him to read the Friday Post. He then called City Hall, and people there said they had seen the Post.

"Our people here, our hearts have gone out to those people in New Orleans," he said. "And I just felt like it was kind of a slap in the face."

Sherer wrote an e-mail message to the Post on the city's behalf saying he was offended by the headline and calling for an apology, but he had not received a response by late Friday afternoon.

The headline drew on Dodge City's heritage as a wild Old West cattletown - an image bolstered by the long-running TV show "Gunsmoke."

You got three or four generations of fatherless young men two generations of rap brainwashing and three or four of gang bangers

The middle aged men had no fathers and were not fathers
In their formative years they refused to be disciplined by those in authority over them and then refused to discipline any of their own children or held them accountable..

Generations of insanely angry young men thanks to 'The Civil Rights Movement',the ACLU, and their public school teachers have been told they did not have to be held accountable for their actions and are justified in their violence

In the torture arenas aka hurricane shelters...the young and strong took what they wanted..raped and murdered right in front of their 'fathers' and grand fathers...

The elders did not raise a hand or say a word...

One might supposed it was because they are all racists..even though disgusted on some level did nothing..

Perhaps they were secretly pleased to see the whites getting violence done to them...

Victims partially paying all blacks back for generations of slavery...or whatever other problems blacks perceive to suffer from.. at the hands of white folks..

Or maybe the older generation was simply glad it wasn't happening to them...or perhaps they were simply afraid

All one can say is the criminals were far outnumbered by those who were not criminals yet the alleged 'good guys' did nothing to save or attempt to save the victims. Selfishly their own lives and safety were more important to them then answering the cries of the victims..

I dont know...yet I do know...

That it is still expected that this same white man (and women) come down from the north and in from the east and west to save them once again...and they did...

Yet inspite of that I am willing to be that in a few more weeks the poverty pimps, ala Jackson, Sharpton and the 'Rap Artists' will be right back at it...biddness as usual.

And once again...those saved will vote for the dems who condemn their rescuers as racists...and give their money to their masters and fall right in line with their racist propaganda.

While true Black leaders like Jesse Lee Peterson will be also once again be labeled traitors for telling them the truth

Come fall or next election time..they will vote for their worst enemies once again..do to the material promises and the rhetoric of real hatred...the kind that kills the human spirit, the socialist pablam.

Those who support the ACLU and NEA and the leftist media who have propagated and profited from the fomenting of hatred of white people and the promotion of the Marxist dogma of entitlement...and the rigtheousness of revenge are as much to blame...perhaps even more so than the perpetrators themselves of such bitter violence. When these sick evil bass turds ran out of white victims (just as is done in Haiti, Zimbabwe, South Africa or Mogadishu they quickly turned on their own..(as if they have any who are really their own)

This demon let loose on us ...even older than the earth it was imprisoned on.. seeks blood..and regardless of how much is spilled it is never sated.

Yet this demon we refuse to acknowldege and never allow ourselves to even name it...and because we will not...we can never rid ourselves of it
