Shepard Smith eyewitness report on O'Reilly: Mayor Ray Nagin intervened today to help tourists (many foreigners) staying at the upscale W hotel downtown escape New Orleans ahead of many of the people in the Superdomw. Tourists were shipped in buses to the Superdome and other connecting buses took them to safety.
Black Mayor Ray Nagin favors "W" tourists. Imagine that headline after all the racist garbage thrown at the President.

Photos and footage from Mississippi show too many poor people of all races to serve the MSM's evil purposes.

he was a better mayor up till Katrina was heading towards NO and Bush had to request he evacuate his City. The DA, Eddie Jordan has failed the City too. Crime had been steadily going up since he took office. Murders to be exact. I just hope NO gets a mayor, no matter what party, color, creed, etc., that they put the best interest of the City and its citizens before their own. I would like to know what Nagin was doing on Friday and Saturday as Katrina was heading his way. I hope it was setting up evacuation plans.

Absolutely correct. Park the transportation on the high ground nearby those likely needed to be evacuated once the storm ebbed.
I am wondering what condition the banks in NO are in? Talk about a prime looting target.

The mayor is a total idiot. He could of save all those people if he wisely deployed all those school buses before the storm hit. Now those school buses are stranded under 10 feet plus of water. Now he blames others for their misfortunes. A true typical democrat. No solutions but always willing to offer their 2 cents.

Ain't heard crap about Mississippi lately. I guess there aren't any African-Americans living there and President Bush isn't in charge of Biloxi like he is New Orleans. The adults have been in charge in Mississippi - they didn't allow their state to turn into Mogadishu on the Big Muddy. Therefore no horror stories to attack Bush with, so nothing happened there.

Personally I think Bush looked Nagin straight in the eye and told him to get his own "but" in gear. I believe you are correct. It was probably a very one sided conversation.

Dont worry Scarborough has been doing his best to make Mississippi look as bad as NO and to blame it on the President.

Right, he or someone else should have moved the buses to high ground as soon as they realized it would flood where they were parked.
It seems that after the storm passed and at first did not seem so bad, everyone went to sleep.
The only possible excuse for the buses in the flooded lot would be that the flooding happened so fast they couldn't do anything. Even in that case, a prudent precaution would be to save the buses by prepositioning them at high ground so that they could evacuate the people.
To: nwrep
I saw that. He did exactly the right thing if it involved putting tourists at the head of the line in front of locals who knew full well the risks of living there. I say that as someone who lived there for 20 years. Every local knew the risk. Most had cars and could evacuate. The tourists were screwed.
To: msnimje
I don't think he needs to worry about TOURISTS:
They don't vote there;
There won't BE any there for about 10 more years I would venture to say...

Those buses should have been running before the storm hit.

It's kind of ironic that the one thing he did right will probably be the thing he catches the most heat over.

I'm scrolling back up to reply to you specifically. You're a smart person.
The mayor did the right thing because they don't have control of the city.
If those white tourists ended up raped or worse, it could expose all sorts of ugly stuff about his constituency.
So, let's not pretend to be perplexed, okay?
To: Squantos
I expect these are the same people who paid (or rather the hotel paid) $25,000 to arrange for buses to evacuate their guests only to have them commandeered by the authorities before they could do so.
