My older brother Mike, and his wife Pat rode the storm out in their home in Bay St. Louis. They didn't want to leave because her Mom is in a nursing home, and her brother is in an Assisted Living facility in the area. When it was over, they had a structure, but it was gutted. They are thankful to be alive. My sister Brenda, and her huband Martin had a cute cottage on the water in Ocean Springs. When Joanne went by to check on it during the week, she discovered it was just gone. They had evacuated to H'burg, with their daughter and her family, who had come from New Orleans. No one has been able to reach them to let them know, yet. Natalie does know by now that they can't go back home to N.O.. I can't even imagine how lost her little girls feel, much less their Mama and Daddy!
But everyone is alive, so we are Blessed beyond words!
Thank you for telling us that your family are all alive. I'm praying for them and their loss.
Prayers for your family SuziQ. Since your sister works at the courthouse, could you ask her how the library came out of it, the one in Pascagoula or in Ocean Springs? I once worked there. I was wondering about the Tato Nut shop too, if you think to ask. I keep hoping to go back there someday to pick up a couple of dozen doughnuts.....
My son is still going to USM after eight long years. He has his bachelors and masters and is working on his doctorate. If he can get a job he likes, the doctorate will be put on hold.
I know the phone coverage is spotty because he wasn't able to call us for a long time.
I'm thinking of all the afterward problems....jobs....fixing homes, even after the immediate emergency is over. Best wishes for your family.
We will pray for them as they cope with their losses, and recover. God is good!
Thank goodness SuziQ! Sounds like everyone in your family has their priorities straight. Creme rises to the top! Prayers that this is the beginning of a whole new, and exciting future of one success after another --and a swift and easy time of it, for them all.
