Outstanding! Way to put such useful information together to be used to refute the propagandist reports we're getting from the MSM!

Mornin', Snugs :)

I got the impression that W was impatient rather than angry or annoyed maybe he felt rather than all the talk and showing of diagrams that he has probably seen a 100 times that they should be getting on with the purpose of the visit actually visiting the people the explanation of what is currently being done can be done at the same time

You're right, I think. W did seem slightly impatient during the briefing. But at the same time I didn't get the feeling that the briefing was a "show", like something Clinton would've slapped together. The president seemed truly interested in what he was being told. Except when it came to Riley :)

I have to be honest that I have hardly watch UK news since it started as there coverage is patchy to say the least.

I watched a couple of minutes on BBC24 yesterday and nearly throw something at the screen if you think the American press is being biased they have nothing on the BBC. The BBC can get away with it because the majority of British people have no idea of the American system and do not realise that what we would refer to central government in the UK cannot act without permission of the individual States. They can therefore twist and manipulate the broadcast without people being aware of it.

They are saying National Guard took this amount of time because of the lack of personnel due to Iraq and Afghanistan commitment not mentioning that it was not officially asked for until after the hurricane which by then was too late and of course took twice the time to get there.

I therefore have either watched sport on UK TV or FNC.

Good morning :)

Shep also lost a home in Mississippi

I didn't know that. I might cut him some slack, but I agree with you, he needs to get out of there.

I think he was interested but IMHO I think he thought it went on too long in the hanger and some of it could have been done on the journey after all the Satellite pictures he must have seen many times.

I do not think it was a media show but this President does not care for what he may view as small talk regardless of whether some see it as necessary

Oh I agree. He also made some brief comments to the press at the White House before he left for the hurricane areas. I didn't see this, but some Freepers were complaining that it was too short, that he could've said more.

Someone pointed out that that would've been Clinton's response, to give a 20 minute "I feel your pain" speech, which would've accomplished nothing. Thanks goodness that W is the opposite of Clinton--in every way :) He's an action president, not a talking president.

The trouble is the media see a 20 minute I feel your pain speech as caring and action whereas a 2 minute I off to see it for myself as dismissing and uncaring, crazy but we we live in this crazy PC world whatever side of the pond we are.

I would not criticize GWB especially on this thread but sometimes one has to weigh the 2 up as to what in the long run gets the most done through favourable reporting. I personally prefer GWB style but others want long explanations and details even where they are are not beneficial either from time aspect or security aspect.

Sorry about confusion on time but I have not been up long and am thinking about getting shopping etc and wondering whether I have time to hear GWB first.
