They plan on taking over the military bases...
BUT, who is going to provide food, water, medical help, job placement..
THAT is what Texas and others are providing..as well as schooling..
Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth!!!!
BAh!
"their" people - don't ya love it? Who's the "Master" know - just when you think it couldn't get worse - this race baiting is beyond belief
You mean they didn't PLAN to use those bases ahead of time?
They PLANNED to use Houston and Dallas?
Oops, sounds like it's out of their hands now.
He may as well run for president. The Mayor of the Mudpuddle runs for pres.
Am seething: CNN just had some idiot from a foreign country saying something to the effect that the USA thinks it's so powerful and now that are--can't remember the exact word--but something like finished. GOOD GRIEF! CNN went from race-baiting to Hate-America. They are reprehensible!
(shrug) They're Yankees and Blue Staters. How would you expect me to know? :-P
*I'm* still wondering why they haven't figured out that armored underground electrical cables don't get knocked down by snow and wind and that they could heat their homes with *reliable* electricity.
"Black Caucus claiming more people starved that from the storm and flood."
Not yet, but that may eventually turn out to be the case -- house-to-house rooftop and/or boat rescues is a time-consuming process, and we might as well get used to the fact that we're not going to get to a lot of people in time.
As far as I know, nobody's called an all-clear, yet, for the possibility of epidemics and diseases among the evacuees.
I'm not exactly agreeing with the Black Caucus -- I'm not trying to make cheap political points.
I've already got a crank sw radio. Cranked it for Katrina (took out the batteries) just to see it work. Pretty cool.
So, because we suffered we are finished? Is that what they were trying to say?
He also said the military needed tents, not guns.
And they are taking busloads of people to England Airpark, a former Air Force Base near Alexandria....without anything set up yet.
Nobody of any significance as of Friday.
I see the potential for more significant race problems if the baiters keep it up.
As a Texan I would prefer LA house their Katrina survivors though. The survivors might also prefer to be in their own state.
This is going to be all about race now, when what it was is a big assed hurricane hit a major city.
If people were jailed for spreading rumors, everyone I know would be in jail right now. Sometimes the only way to learn anything is to talk to people. With widespread power outages, a fuel crisis, and a national disaster, the local news media has neither the time nor the inclination to report on matters that might be of vital interest to local residents. Of course, you have to be careful about what to believe, and not get panicky. But still, I'm glad neighbors have told me about their experiences with violence in gas lines and gas and generator thefts, etc. It has reinforced my decision to stay at home for a few days until things settle down a bit.
Yet the people who won't be laughing are the poor African-American people-who-cannot-be-called-refugees - all they want is to get somewhere decent and clean with water and food and medical care - but NOOOOOOOOOO, their legislators fear their votes might not come back, so they will now be used as pawns in a ridiculous political hissy-fit.
Yes, they are waterproof.
They still do not float.
"Meals-Ready-to-Bat are based on American recipes..."
What branch of the service were you in? Or was this an innocent typo?
Still pretty funny!
What's a continuation clause?
***Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth!!!! **
These people could CARE LESS about that. All they are concerned about is thier voting base going away...
They would rather these people live in SQUALOR, than give up a Democrat seat...
PEOPLE! We are seeing the DNC reaction, playing the Race-card to the storm, and frankly, it's making my BLOOD BOIL!
"WWL Black Caucus: We have responsibilty to take care of people in our own state, thats what were going to do."
"I agree"
I agree, too - then why didn't the Black Mayor of NO do it with his people???? Sorry, I guess I need to start a cuss jar - why don't they just STFU and do something instead of babbling and blaming the wrong parties. I'll tell you why, because they NEVER DO anything except babble and blame. Idiots! <rant off
