I want to see the MSM..granted they probably won't, go after NO Mayor Nagin.. He's got the nerve to cuss out Bush, Blanco, etc for not helping his city.. Yet, DRUDGE REPORT has a pict of HUNDREDS of school buses sitting unused in floodwaters that the City of New Orleans should have been using to truck out the infirm, etc..out of NO before the storm hit. They had what..at least a 2 day notice that the storm was on the way..and they let those buses sit there.. So, Mayor Nagin, enough BS from your mouth about how Bush isnt doin crap for you.
Hang in there, plenty of us understand what you are going through and are praying, contributing, and volunteering. Glad you were able to get gas, and good luck in your search for your fellow workers.
It won't even be five days since the hurricane hit until tomorrow morning (Saturday) and flooding didn't start until Tuesday which is four days.
How can Freepers be taken in by these reporters when they cannot even get their facts right about when the storm hit and water started rising? Why didn't Geraldo bring in a lot of water when he arrived? Did Shep ever grow a beard after being on the ramp for five days? The five days is from Freeper accounts BTW.
Mayor told the people to bring food and water to the Superdome -- why didn't they listen?
Wonderful news for you ! :)
It has been looking like DU for a few days....
I just do not get how Bush can be blamed because some idiots are holding hostages, sniping at the Coast Guard and the boats that have come to save people...
OR, how he can be blamed for people NOT evacuating after he was the one who gave the order to the Gov. and Mayor...
I tell you one thing else that is ridiculous...is the medias insistence on flaming the racial aspects of this...
It is bad enough to have idiots in the Cong. Black Caucus and rap singers accusing Bush of only saving white people...
But every single talk show seems to want to fan the flames--jeez louise, Bush didn't aim the hurricane at a black area of town, or insist that when looting started that the looters were shown on TV to be predominately black...
The politicians and media are making me sick---
How can he get credit? The dad-blamed media isn't paying attention to Mississippi & Alabama...no chance of starting wars or ruining the President's credibility in those places
what did i say that would make him lose credibility there?
The hell he has. You post on link to any transcript and I will eat my words. And don't ever call me a liar again.
One other point about Shep Smith: He is from Holly Springs, Mississippi, and he went to Ole Miss. I'm sure he spent many happy times in New Orleans, as I did and as most people from Mississippi did. Even if I didn't personally know so many people from New Orleans, the destruction of this city where I spent so many happy times with my family when I was a kid would be enough to break my heart. I can't even think about it without bursting into tears.
Watch H&C and watch how Hannity had to clam down Shep so he could respond to a question. Watch how Shep didn't have the answer to a logical question on a matter he had been ranting about but apparently not had the foresight to get an answer to. Watch his quiet at this moment of recognition.
This is the sort of "clear headed" thinking that has led to this disaster. In other words if your first response is a colossal failure you have lost 24-48 hours of effectiveness. Expecting someone to rush in and fill in for incompetency doesn't work. And I'm not aware of Governors that are failing, only one comes to mind.
On the other hand did you just see that one old lady who took off her glasses and said "George W. Bush you ain't never going to get my vote for anything!" People are blaming the wrong person... are they showing CNN on the big screen at the Astrodome?
Yeah, weak mind...When I get tired I'm not responsible for what I say (or type)
Re: the school buses -- I guess the NO mayor didn't think of it at all.
I read on one of the threads that he did think to evacuate his own family by helicopter last Friday though.
yeah...
but they will get it back 10 fold.
I am pretty sure that this entire racial overtone isn't playing well with ANYONE with a memory.

At least five hurricane evacuees have died since arriving in Houston four of them Thursday according to Beverly Begay, chief forensic investigator at the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. The deaths appeared to all be from natural causes, she said. They include:
A 90-year-old black female from New Orleans who died Thursday in the Reliant Park parking lot.
A 63-year-old white male from Metaire, La., died Wednesday at the Christus St. Joseph emergency room.
A 66-year-old white male from Mandeville, La., died Thursday at the residence of a family member.
A 50-year-old black male from New Orleans staying in a Houston hotel died Thursday in the Ben Taub emergency room.
A 66-year-old black female from New Orleans staying at the Reliant Astrodome died Thursday at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital emergency room.
Begay said the ME's office will begin posting information on its Web site as soon as next of kin are notified. She said such information was posted after Tropical Storm Allison.
Steve Harrigan staying outside in the hurricane was not very professional.
Shep does seem to have been sheltered. This situation will undoubtedly leave him changed.
From the guy who hit the lady with his car cause she wouldn't move from the parking spot. To a hurt human who has been humbled by the power of a hurricane and the fragile nature of life. He has to be changed.
It's starting!
The disaster area is 90,000 square miles. Many of the areas were harder hit and have had more flooding than NO.
I suspect when we hear the whole story, the complaints from NO will seem not trivial, but certainly secondary.
The press disgusts me. They simply do nothave the intelligence to understand this disaster and report on it ia responsible manner.
