Anybody watching Anderson Cooper now? He's losing it publicly, blasting Sen. Landrieu, saying she doesn't understand the pain of the New Orleans survivors. He seems traumatized by having witnessed a couple of dead bodies in the streets. Cooper seems like he's descending into madness.

leftward drift?...I don't know. My mother is a diehard bush hating lefty, and she has zero sympathy for these people. I'd go so far as say she's repulsed. I don't think this episode will push her in either direction.
Federal agents are going to descend upon this place any day now. There is not enough law enforcement and military presence.
I don't suppose what you are calling "hype" could be these people's REALITY? Do you not believe that there are dead bodies, sick babies, pregnant women crying, thirsty and hungry hoardes of people? Perhaps some prefer that the reporters only show scenes of people getting on buses, with smiling faces, happy people who are doing just fine in the face of this horror. I always thought it was the reporters job to be our eyes and ears in situations like this. To report to us what they are seeing and hearing. If we wanted to have our news "white-washed", perhaps we should become a communist country.
If you want to get fed up with something, I would suggest getting fed up with those politicising and unprecedented and extremely challenging disaster. If you want to help, I would suggest donating to the Salvation Army.
I don't know, Lady GOP. The magnitude of this disaster would be pretty hard to "sensationalize", wouldn't it? I mean, can it get much worse?
From the credible descriptions of the interview, it sounds like he called b.s. on Landrieu handing out kudos in the midst of disaster.
Impressive.
I don't think it's Shep bashing...it's reporter bashing. These guys haven't been near filth or poverty, and are thus completely repulsed. They live in elite towers in the city, get chauffered to work...and occassionally hand a homeless man some money. No wonder they're crying...
How did you turn out so well?
I don't see that at all. The Bush-bashing will continue, which is standard no matter what he does.
But the country is not going to shift left because the governor of Louisiana was too sheepish to call out her own National Guard.
Not sure what that proves. But when addressing former presidents, senators, high ranking military officers, the correct title does not include "former".
I don't care for Landrieu either, but I am not going to fault her for that, or the substance of her interview. Compare that with what Kennedy would have said.
Did anyone notice during one of the clips they were playing a huge black woman was screaming and yelling about how they weren't getting any help. She is going on and on about "NO FOOD, NO WATA" and she is gestering toward the camera. Just before the camera turns away someone comes up next to her with a big rubbermaid bin and she reaches in and pulls out a soda. I pointed at the screen and proceeded to laugh my butt off.
That's a short trip :)
Jag!
That makes sense, given the wanton lawlessness and wickedness in New Orleans.
Agree; and I can forgive his occasional lapses into hyperbole as he tries to describe what appears to be; despite tv cameras. . .almost indescribable.
Shep is there and and he IS doing a great job. (Shep is from Mississippi; and close to home literally, and emotionally. . .in his reporting; and that is fine with me.)
I never enjoy watching an idiot, which is what he made himself look like. I thought she handled it well considering the stupid question that he shot at her. And I am no Mary Landrieu fan.
But she wasn't addressing Klintoon, merely referring to him. The point in mentioning the 141,000 hits was to suggest that, contrary to what you believe, "former President Clinton" is widely used.
Thanks for your time.
I think back to FLorida's hurricanes, where Bush was criticized for going down for a photo op....the feds are responsible for delivering the money and longterm aid...NOT for setting up the crisis management. Thank goodness Florida had Jeb in charge. Thank goodness Haley Barbour is dealing with things.
Don't worry, I can get fed up with more than one thing at a time. I AM fed up with those who are politicising this unprecedented disaster. I HAVE donated to not only the Salvation Army, but the Red Cross as well. And even though I was fed up with those playing politics with this situation, I still have the capacity to also be fed up with those who are posting comments that will be posted on other forums as proof that Conservatives are cruel and heartless.
For those of you who haven't read Pukin' Dog's article today, please take the time to read it and pass it on.
No, that was Aaron Brown.
