CNN's Anderson Cooper Losing It -- LIVE!!!
CNN -- live ^ | September 2, 2005 | self - vanity

Posted on 09/01/2005 4:23:09 PM PDT by Poundstone

Anybody watching Anderson Cooper now? He's losing it publicly, blasting Sen. Landrieu, saying she doesn't understand the pain of the New Orleans survivors. He seems traumatized by having witnessed a couple of dead bodies in the streets. Cooper seems like he's descending into madness.

She knows that you normally don't use the word former with ex-presidents, congress critters, etc.

Just plugged "former President Clinton" in Google and got "about 141,000" hits.

As you may have noticed, I don't care for Mary. If you look at newspaper articles citing Bush for not spending enough for flood control, you'll notice that some mention "according to figures provided by the office of U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.)." She's doing what she can to blame Bush, but discreetly.

Go watch the footage of dead bodies and very sick-looking babies outside the New Orleans Convention Center... pregnant women crying and saying they are thirsty... people fighting over food that's been looted out of a convenience store.

I wasn't inclined to believe all this hype, either, until I saw the footage on tv.

Prayers for your son, and our Coast Guard. I hope these emergency responders never have to read what some of the armchair quarterbacks have been posting on FR. I believe that everyone from the policemen, to EMT's, to Coast Guard, Reserves, and everyone else who is dealing "hands on" with this crisis deserve a bit more respect and support. I can't even imagine all of the details that are affected by circumstances beyond their control. I believe that the responders are doing the best they can do under these circumstances. I hold the state and city government officials accountable for any emergency planning before and after the fact, not the "boots on the ground", so to speak.

On the Anderson Cooper and his drama queen tendencies issue ... A male acquantaince related to friends in the Detroit area said that he was dating a New York area reporter. At the time, they did not know this person (prior to his CNN gig). Several years later, it was revealed to be Anderson Cooper. There is a reason he does not have a girlfriend.

The need to organize the people there...priortized and group them ..eldery, women and children etc. Make signs sort them get them organized and get them the hell out of there.
The refugee issue must be addressed first. The set up a pick up point for any newly rescued.

"I think Shep is doing a great job. . .an incredible job, in fact. . . "

He sounded completely unhinged on Sean Hannity's radio show today. He had made a wild claim about children dying in the streets. Sean asked him about this and he couldn't really back it up except to say that he saw a child with a high fever. There is a world of difference between a sick kid and children dying in the street. This is just hyperbole spewed by some pampered drama queen that can't find a decent hotel room. It does nothing to help the situation.

Geesh, these guys can't win. If they show no emotion, they are considered heartless, they show fear or sadness, they are "publicity hounds" or showmen. Poor Shep, he's getting a bad wrap.

Yes, exactly! Just like those who have been saying that our President should be getting his face out there more. He has spoken on this thing at least once a day, but even that isn't enough for some. As if our President doesn't have important duties he has to attend to than getting "on camera" so we can all "see" that he's still there and in charge. The people down in NO, and other areas devastated by Katrina, can't watch television because they have no power, but those who aren't in danger, sitting at their computers want to see his face on t.v. more. Good grief!

I saw the tapes; they are in an UNAUTHORIZED place.

And the reason that they are NOT getting on the busses at the SuperDome is that they have decided they don't want to leave NO.

Quite simply put, they are NOT following the rules; at what point do you expect any of those people to take responsibility for their own choices and decisions?

Shep said someone knocked on the window of their truck, and that many people were doing that, asking for water or food or a ride, and that he got scared.

I bet he did, and his crew too. With all the shootings and looting going on, I'd be scared too. It doesn't take a stretch of the imagination to figure someone would love to commandeer their vehicle and everything else they have and leave them dead on the side of the road. Chaos is not a safe place to live, nor a safe place to report from.

The Harvey levees are/have been using federal money for recent repairs. Estimate about $20 million in fed money. Pretty good/bad considering the levees are privately owned and supposedly maintained by the owners.

But angry at whom? That is the point. This was a natural disaster, the authorities can't get to the people easily, especially with the thugs threatening their lives etc. For the media and those stranded to actually blame the President is ludicrous, and part of another agenda that we have been watching since 2000. There is something wrong with their souls.

"Yes, I'm watching it. His interview with Senator Landrieu was about as unprofessional as I've seen."

Not only was it unprofessional....but I really enjoyed watching him bitch at her. She had a look of utter disbelief, someone daring to speak to Queen Mary that way!!! I started to remember how she threatened the nice republican woman who ran against her....Anderson better watch his back down there.

I know I would find it just about impossible to keep my emotions in check upon witnessing the horror these folks are going through, and that overwhelming helpless feeling knowing that there isn't a darn thing I could do to help them all. It's so easy to criticize someone when you aren't walking in their shoes. I always thought Conservatives were better than that, that we are the compassionate ones. It's happened before, but this time on FR, I'm really getting fed up with those posters who are making FReepers look like a bunch of coldhearted SOB's.

No breaks for you. I want specific instances of negligence and evidence that a good job is not being done.
