Read the revealing Draft Request. Again we add another black mark to the CLINTON LEGACY.

You may directly access the Federal Record by going to their web site, enter the SIMPLE SEARCH MODE, and enter (with quotes) "fr23jn98-32" to review the entire document.

Shut. The. Hell. Up.

If you want to play political games with this calamity, that's fine. If you want to get down in the mud with the liberals and argue over whose fault this natural disaster was, be my guest. But for God's sake, have the decency at least to wait until they fish all the waterlogged bodies out of the streets of New Orleans, huh?

Personally, I think it is bad taste to try to blame anyone while people are dying. People need to look for a place to help, not a place to lay blame.

I want to thank Mr. Jeff Katz, of radio KNEW in the San Francisco Bay area, for allowing me on his program today to ask again for his earlier reference to this Federal Register entry.

Thanks again Jeff!!

Thanks for the link, it's great information. Someone in the Clinton administration rejected this, and perhaps the congress as well. Do you have anything on this being "summarily rejected by Bill Clinton" or who asked for the report or why it was rejected? Democrats love wiggle room.

Some guy was just on FOX and said that it was Bush who wouldn't approve the budget - not Clinton - and the FOX reporter never corrected him.

EeeeeGads! Now FOX is starting to cover for the Clintons ..??

Is this what became Coast 2050, which has been funded at $14 million per year instead of the $470 million required?

summarily REJECTED

Can someone explain what this means? Was it attached to some other bill that was "summarily REJECTED"?

Just my two cents here, but I would not get this out until we know what happened to this request. Was it killed in the Clinton Admin by political appointees or career Corps bureaucrats? Was it killed in a Congressional appropriation process?

I would imagine the bigger bloggers and Fox News would want to know this before running with it.

If we start waving this around and it turns out that it was defunded in the Congressional appropriations process, the blowback will be far worse than anything we've seen the Dims and the MSM dish out on this subject.

Blaming this on Bill Clinton is as stupid as blaming it on Bush. This problem has been on the horizon since the French and/or Spanish first settled the area.

If my math is right Clinton has been out of office for 5 years. During that time President Bush has built up the massive infrastructure of the Office of Homeland Security. An orginization tasked with dealing with problems such as Katrina.

Perhaps instead of assigning blame our time might be better spent pointing out what is praiseworthy. High-lighting the superior preformance of this administration in comparison to previous ones goes a lot further than shaking your fist at slick willy.
