If you want to play political games with this calamity, that's fine. If you want to get down in the mud with the liberals and argue over whose fault this natural disaster was, be my guest. But for God's sake, have the decency at least to wait until they fish all the waterlogged bodies out of the streets of New Orleans, huh?
What you said...
The politics began before the storm hit. The latest salvo is a statement today from Harold Ford, calling Bush's response weak and ineffective.
In an ideal world, we'd be able to deal with this storm without politicizing it. This isn't an ideal world.
We aren't the ones who are politizing this - the dems started long before the hurricane ever hit.
The reason .. they want to get their digs in before it's learned that Clinton had the responsibility to help NO and he opted not to.
If you want to play political games with this calamity, that's fine.

It is clear you don't understand the important implication here -- it is about the MSM and the left. Why don't you direct your scorn to THEM -- they are the instigators of hate-driven accusations. Wake up. We are on the RIGHT SIDE and tired of taking in the shorts from the sleazy MSM --- why don't you call the LA Times and the NYT and tell them TO SHUT UP!!! Hmmm?
Are you nuts? If the media politicize this, they MUST be answered. That hardly means that Freepers can't also donate or help out in other ways.
The media simply cannot be allowed to use their usual technique, which is to repeat a lie until it is believed by uninformed readers and viewers. They must be answered NOW, and unfortunately we don't have the luxury to wait until some better time.
President Bush can't get down in the mud and argue with the media, he has a job to do. But we can, and should, counter their lies with the truth.
This weekend, we're going to start getting hit by our Liberal friends and relatives about Bush. It's good to have a retort
Good grief. . .this is not 'playing poltical games'; knowledge is power; the 'rats' have already insinuated; stated. . .decried and delcared a 'line of responsibility' that leads to President Bush.
We do not have to go down to their level, for sure. . .but knowing the 'facts of the matter' to counter their lies IS important.
These folks are masters at creating their own self-serving reality. IT is critical. for the tragedy unfolding as we 'speak'. . .that they NOT get away with pulling this lie off.
If you do not want to 'sully' yourself; why bother even reading the post to begin with.
I got this from a lib friend today--
The mistakes of the present administration keep coming back to haunt us (individually and collectively). Just consider the amount of money withheld from New Orleans flood control since 2001 simply because the wealthy taxpayers and Iraq war promoters drained it off. (Pun intended!) Add the deaths and other losses in New Orleans to the cost of the administration's mistakes. See http://www.tompaine.com/, Why the Levee Broke)
Well said.....
The lying, filthy media whores and their bosses in DNC have been putting Bush through the wringer ever since he announced his run for the Presidency back in 2000. This blaming him for Hurricane Katrina is the final straw!
>> Shut. The. Hell. Up.
This is a conservative forum, and you sound like a troll.
Personally, I agree with both of you, but personally, I can't even seem to have a passing conversation about this horrible disaster at a grocery store or gas station without someone interjecting something to the effect of "if Bush would've done such and such" or "if Bush wouldn't have done..." So far I've been polite and rational in saying that this mess isn't the president's fault and the war has nothing to do with it, but you can't reason with idiots like this. In some cases, it would be really nice to have a comeback to shut them the h*ll up.
Why should he/she when we have Landrieu on TV threatening to punch the President and blaming him for cutting funds?
Spread the word Eagle and while you're at it can you tell me why the link doesn't work. I'm writing to Landrieu now and would like to cite the article.
