Former Presidents Bush, Clinton asked to raise cash for hurricane victims

Haven't those poor people suffered enough?

Here's a thought: wht don't these two august gents open up their Presidential libraries for something useful, such as housing refugees? There would finally be a reason to visit them.

Another chapter of "As The Stomach Turns". Can't help it, that's my reaction whenever I hear President Bush is calling on the impeached one for assistance. In my opinion, the American people are quite capable of raising funds through the Red Cross, Salvation Army and other charities - without the assistance of former Presidents.

In my opinion, it is a direct insult to each and every one of us who voted for Bush, for the POTUS to permit Klinton--and/or her husband--into his presence!

Clinton, as usual, was laughing and lip biting as left the Oval Office.
Must be those happy memories of Monica under the desk.

And Bill Clinton's ability to publicly criticize this president has been effectively muted.

Maybe the Bush family can cough up some of their umpteen million dollars for the starving.

And Clinton can give...uh...comic relief?

I won't give a cent until Oil and Gas giants give a donation of at least 10% of their maximized profits this past year. For Exxon that would make over $700 million for their share in donations. These helpless people are the same people that helped some corporations get to record profits so it's only fair for them to give back. I give every time something like this happens then watch corporate America give chump change for their share and I'm tired of it. I'm all for the free market but I'm also for corporate responsibility.

I don't think a dime should be going to that area until the looting is stopped, the snipers are killed, and order is restored.

We don't need to be throwing money at this problem right now. We need to be laying down the law and taking out the thugs who think they can turn Louisiana into Mogadishu.

I'll be ticked if they give cash payments to any looters. But you know they will, plus vouchers for food and everything else not nailed down.

Well, I'd be very, very happy to help out with a donation myself. But I'll be damned if a penny of my hard-earned money is going to be given to looters. I want to look in the face of the person or persons getting aid from me AND KNOW they aren't looters.

Hey!... This gives me an idea for a website: A website of Katrina's needy -- together with pictures and addresses -- so that contributers know who's benefitting from their generosity.

GEEEeeeeeeee... what's up with this 'little situation.' - is not even funny anymore. So the old man is driving mom nuts around the house, so fine, use him to do something useful, but with BILL CLINTON????... Of all the human beings on earth, only Bill Clinton can raise money?... I guess we should be glad is not Jessy Jackson, or the other clown. Geeesss.

:)

Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.
An added benefit to the fact that they will raise an enormous amount of money.

If they can raise money for foreigners, they can raise money for Americans.
