Its like "Black Hawk Down" all over again, but it is happening in this country right in front of our eyes in an American city. Where in the hell is Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton when they really need to give some leadership?
Yesterday I was hoping my hubby would get activated there to help with his choppers, today..forget it, not unless he can fire back at these scum..
Probably hiding out until Congress can give him a get-out-of-jail free card.
I hope it is not that but rather that the conditions in the water from debris and other stuff have made it to dangerous to navigate. However if it is because of punk hoodlums maybe rescue agencies should assume that all that are left in N.O are criminals and sub human carbon based life forms and leave them to their fate.
We need to be air dropping kits to these people.
The kits should contain water bottles, food, baby formula, and a handgun with plenty of ammunition.

The mentality these people have is that they KNOW they won't be shot at by troops. They have nothing to lose.

Um Bush doesn't have the authority for this. The Lousiana State Govt. is in the way. The got to ask for it. I do hope Bush calls up and OFFERS it. Maybe that will wake the idiots up. The N.O. Mayor just issued orders that Looters would be "ARRESTED AND JAILED" UMMM by WHO? In case you missed it, your guys are seriously out numbered here Mayor.

Now saying on CNN it is too dangerous to attempt rescues when the rescue people are being shot at -- this is beyond comprehension.
I will start blaming BUSH if I don't see armed NG and NOPD hunting down and putting under these scumbag pariahs before the day is done. Everyone keeps saying lawlessness will not be tolerated, but no one is enforcing it. Actions, not words are needed here.
Don't put the burden on Bush. This is a matter for the State of Louisiana to handle. Bush should tell the 'Rat governor that if she wants FEMA to continue to operate, she needs to take the appropriate actions to ensure their safety. Given that the mayor and governor have sat back and allowed the situation to deteriorate, it's not going to be easy to fix it. Martial law should have been declared before the hurricane hit--while mass communication with the populace was still available--and would-be looters should have been advised of how they'd be dealt with and they should have been dealt with harshly from the get go.
Bin laden is probably pissed that he didn't put a hole in NO's levees before Katrina did.
The lesson here is that where a major city takes a big hit, security is going to be job one.....which is pretty sad.
They are getting shot at!!!!!!! Read the news, there are armed gangs roving the areas robbing other people, they are shooting at the police and even attacking police stations. It is right out of "Black Hawk Down".
Exactly! The Governor needs taken out IMHO for failing to react to this situation and not ordering looters shot on site or at least being able to return fire.
