"Looters should report to Miami,Florida

Where the Chief of Police declared on Fox News that - Looters will not be shot..that was in the old days...now we value people more than material possessions -..."

How can such an ignorant man become a Chief of Police? I guess we no longer have standards in our culture or even the ability to understand culture.

Not necessarily so. Ivan "visited" us last year in mid September. The season runs into November.

Once we pass Oct. 1 the biggest threat is over. Till then it's a high risk.

"If I lived down there I'd have tropical depression...let me tell you!"

I'd take Tropical Depression over Cabin Fever or Winter Blahs (or whatever the hell they call it) any ol' day.

Judging from the trajectory it's on par to strike the New York Times building.

He's clearly too stupid to understand that once you start down the road to anarchy (via looting) it's a short way to hell. How anyone could look at NO right now and not understand that is beyond me, however.

The Atlantic Hurricane season ends Nov. 30.

The Atlantic is a big place. While hurricane season continues, the United States becomes safe. Are you really expecting a hurricane to hit in October or November (or even the 2nd half of September?)

IIRC, Ivan hit on Sept 16 -- then there were 9 named storms after that

There were 7 named storms last year after Sept 1, including Ivan and Jeanne.

Exactly my point. Hurricane season for the United States ends in a couple of weeks. It will end earlier in the western Gulf since cold fronts arrive there earlier than they do in Florida.
