Reports of women being raped and shots fired regularly in the super dome. This is why no matter what decent Americans must stay armed.

No. They let all the prisoners out of the jails
as the flood waters began to rise, because they
couldn't transport them...they shoulda left them
in their cells to drown.

Still want to save NOLA, Miz?

I wonder if rebuilding is even possible in our time?

BTW. where is the calvary? I guess they are on the way.

I hope not! Calvary is the mount that Jesus was crucified on. I think what you're hoping for is that the cavalry to come riding in to the rescue.

it's called enabling which is a symptom of white guilt.

i'm not afflicted however.

neither should anyone else be

and nor should decent blacks feel a need to defend these feral currs.

kneejerk white apologists will do all that well enough

the same mindset that has looked the other way as this abyss has been created since the 60s

and no, it's not all relative...the scourge that the aforementioned "wiggers" are notwithstanding.

And they would be walking to where .... 2 days and 60 - 70 miles down the road, no food or water ...you're absolutely brilliant doc, don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise

First of all once you get across the river or on the other side of the lake transportation is actually available. It is the worst where they are as they are surrounded by water. Once you get to the other side it becomes a heck of a lot easier to get a ride. It is probably no more than 30 miles in order to get where the roads and bridges are still intact.

I know I would have walked my family out by now. I walk 30 miles in a about 6 hours. Even with little one's you can do 15 if you take it easy.

It is really not nearly as far as you make it out to be. The average man at a decent clip walks any where between 5 and 7 miles an hour. Children can do 3 easy. So in a 10 hour day you're talking 30 miles. Much better to do that than stay around the masses that are quickly turning on each other. If they had started when they still were not dehydrated and without food after the hurricane blew thru and they knew it was a lot worse than they had bargained for they would be in good shape right now. Look at what they're outlook is at the present time. Pretty dismal. I'd take my chances on my own. But then again I have never relied on any one else to bail me or mine out of tough situations. From the looks of things, a heck of a lot of these people are used to letting the government supply their needs. And I mean no racist implication at all, it is just an observation.

a few years back after one area along the Mississippi or one of it's tributaries (in Iowa I think) was flooded again they moved the town up on higher ground. Smart of them.

If you build in the flood plain your dikes/levies can fail, you should have your insurance. Back during the Red river flood dikes failed or were topped. You can not always hold back the water.

NO probably should not be rebuilt entirely in it's current place. Perhaps a few of the historic areas could be perserved but the number of homes and people living in the area should be much much lower.

Someone mentioned on somewhere on FR that buses were available to take people out prior to the hit, sorry I didn't see very many outgoing amongst all that traffic. This has been very poorly handled by the city and state officials. True none of us could have immagined such a HUGE disaster but from the looks of it, standing around and saying, well we told them to leave, without having rounded up enough vehicles to get them out AND personal (NG could have been used) to help the elderly, infirm and families without transportation....it's criminal on the part of the city and state. If not enough buses(city and school) were available they could have used other modes of transport, including semi trailers. I would think that in a state of emergency they could get use of vehicles.

The fact is NOTHING was done to help those who may not have understood the true danger or those who really had no way of leaving their homes. This is truely very sad. God help those people and grant them the patience to endure while help is enroute. It really looks like no plan was even in place to get at least some of those people out. Sooo sad.

Having sad that it would be nice of the people being interviewed to complain about thier plight would start condemming those holding up the whole resue operation. Unless they're ready to admit that some of their 'people' are not worth defending they will continue to be in a dire situation. They need to call on their gov. to bring the situation under control, even if it means SHOOTING of the
'scared' looters/criminals.

jmo of course.

I would think Ted might want to avoid commenting on flood disasters.

It's insane and criminal if any American would shoot at any rescuers. It may seem far fetched by could Islamic sleepers being instigating additional civil disorder?

If we can airlift massive amounts of supplies to Muslim nations which hate US, after the Tsunami, more should have been done a hell of a lot sooner for fellow Americans.

We have to remember it is brutally hot & humid, there are elderly & babies out in that miserable heat without fresh water, now for days. What about those which require daily or weekly medicine to live, such as severe diabetic & heart patients. Mothers with babies and small children must feed them and will attempt to locate food any where they can.

Anyone on the outside looking at this disaster if in the same situation, with babies & very small children, would try and feed them, and don't say you would not. The rampaging hoodlums should not paint everyone still rotting in that filthy water as heartless thugs.

Prediction: The appeasement, isolationist, left will attempt to justify this shooting.

Further prediction: The appeasenik isolationist leftists will start insisting that we give up land to these terrorists in order to keep the peace.

It was a pretty awesome sight for me to see the 82nd, locked and loaded on every street corner.

A pretty big piece of the city got burned down too.

Seeing all of the people who are doing the looting and shooting on TV and you have to ask youselves a question......do they look like you or do they look like they are from another continent know for this type of behavior when disaster strikes.

From the same places that gave us Idi Amin and necklacing.

And no, I have never heard the word wigger but I agree with the concept as I have known more than a few.

You could also call them culture vultures...people who take a bad aspect of a culture and use it as their own.
