Looter are armed gang situation worsening.
Domestic insurgents not terrorists.
Probably not. If you look at the murder rankings, NO is consistently top ten. My guess is that if you assigned "points" for each year in the top 10 murder list and added them up, over the last 15 years, NO would be number 1.
Yep. The democrats are a-doin' it again. It's like Nero fiddling while Rome burns.
This is getting really scary. I say bring in special forces...hell something...
I see you like the idea of being able to gut and loot a city as well as shoot at aid workers. Troll?
We're watching the cradle-to-grave cloak of liberalism shred itself to pieces in the calming breeze of reality.
When you hear from the doctors, nurses, and ambulance drivers how terrorized they are while trying to evacuate sick babies, you know how low these dregs of society are. This is what happens to a culture where the kids know gangsta rap lyrics instead of the Ten Commandments. The government schools' war on Christianity reaps these shameful results. Save the port of NO and forget the rest of this sick city.
Yes, it looks that way. I remember for years NO was warned that this might happen. And it sure has. I dont know how bad the situation is, but if this crap continues, people in the US are going to turn their backs because of these lunatics.
..Freedome Fighters..
Have y'all seen the interviews where the "refugees" are blaming everyone else for their hardship? One said "Why have you not gotten us out of here" a proud looter said "When you've been oppressed by society for so long, it's our right to take from society". It's fairly humiliating that these are Americans. They could have evacuated like everyone else did. That's what you get when you create a society with an entitlement mindset.
Someone jumped on my ass the other day about a comment I made that we should kill terrorists instead of capture them. They said I was not supporting our soldiers. UNBELIEVABLE!
These people in N.O. are acting like domestic terrorists!
And it's not relevant how?
Morning.
That is what my son said ,after we heard this on FNC.
During the 1989 California earthquake, when the 880 freeway collapsed in Oakland, the gang bangers and drug dealers became the heroes and recuers. Too bad the same thing is not happening in NO.
Nope. There was looting then, too - the media did'nt cover it.
My then best friend's girlfriend trained EMTs - they were some of the first ones the scene, and saw it first-hand - people werecrawling in between the fallen decks to get to the cars.
There was also looting in the Berkeley fire, as the houses burned.
What's happening in NO could very easily happen in Oakland, especially east Oakland. I just moved out of that sh*thole. Trust me. They'd call it 'Gettin' paid", and woe to anyone that stands in their way.
Phil Keating on FNC now confirming the shooting per the NOPD.
The best thing I can see out of this whole mess is how many people will be forced off their heroin/crack cocaine habit. Being in a area wihtout nothing coming in except food/water has to really dwindle the available drugs on the street.
I disagree. In one case one is taking something that can save their lives and will obviously otherwise be consigned to a landfill during cleanup, and in the case of non-survival looting one is simply a thief.
The *real* crime here, however, is that the city did not have any semblance of a plan in place. If they did then every grocery store would immediately have been guarded so that any food could be distributed in an orderly manner (and the store owner compensated).
Anybody looting something other than the necessities of life, however ... you can shoot those guys all day long as far as I'm concerned.

I know.
If I were to offer a half hearted defense, 90% of New Orleans is underwater. This is not the same ground as the ravages of Ivan last year, where 3 days afterwards GW Bush and Gov Jeb Bush could go there, comfort people, and help hand out ice.
New Orleans is now Atlantis--or very close to it.
right. I just heard that Alabama gas stations were charging $5-6 a gallon.
