"I'm sure Texas is just delighted they are going to be hosting these people"
As a Texan, I don't have a problem helping these people, as long as they behave themselves. From what I've heard, most of the people coming here are the one's who evacuated before the storm struck, not the one's who are still there.

I'm sure Texas is just delighted they are going to be hosting these people.Oh, I'm sure they're all just waiting outside the AstroDome with flowers and tea cakes, excitedly peering down the sun splashed road for the sight of those 400+ shimming buses. *
I guess the major of Hustoun wasn't balming on running for office...any office...ever again.
(*Wouldn't you just love to be one of those bus driver?)

Do we know where those 400 buses are right now?

No kidding. If the could bucket the water up high enough and flow it down on the fire...end of problem.
Early radio traffic however said the chute was many stories high and hard to get to.
I guess sprinkler systems were suppose to handle this stuff.

Do we know where those 400 buses are right now?Look, in all large cities we know that there are areas where if you drive 400 buses in, no more than 200 will ever come out.
That's called the modern Law of PC.
If they really wanted 400 buses, they shoulda planned ahead.

104 were lined up along the highway ready to roll, 200 were waiting for fuel at Texaco.
This was as of an hour ago or so.
I believe I heard many of those 200 have since been fueled.

I sure hope so. That place is ready to explode.
To: Trust but Verify
Most are still outside the Superdome. Helicopter evacuations stopped because somebody was shooting at them.
Really nice people we're helping there in New Orleans...

That makes it a giant chimney with a huge draw, probably exiting into the body of the Superdome. When I first saw pictures of that place being used as a shelter, I had a sick, sinking feeling that nothing good could come of it.
To: Dog Gone
I heard about the helicopter shots on CNN.
Any further word on that?

I'm sure Texas is just delighted they are going to be hosting these people. Coming soon to a dome near you!

Interesting. Methinks they're trying to practice some crowd control so they can get people the hell out of there.
