Considering where "spare parts" are coming from, I'm thrilled that they have been recycled in such a positive way. What I'm referring to is that the parts were deadlined for one of three reasons: They are out-of-date or have been made obsolete, they are defective out-of-the-box, or they were what was left of battle-damaged vehicles.
In any case, anyone who thinks of our military (and especially the enlisted ranks) as unthinking automatons, should probably adjust fire and re-examine their perspective.

Kathy, Thanks for the flag and remembering Chris! I just got finished writing him. No emails from him today. I need to go back and read this thread. We picked up some babies from NO. They are the sick and premature. They did well with the transfer and are resting quietly in the Medical Center. They are without parents right now so we will just have to be parents to them!
I am sorry to say that we are suspended from our flights for right now unless they can get the sick from the hospitals to Baton Rouge. They say it is just to dangerous. We have another hospital here that is ready to take on some of the nursing home patients. What a flipping mess. I wish the people in NO would behave so we can get some more people because the situation is untenable in the hospitals there. I wish we could do more but we are civilians/caregivers and not allowed to shot people. I didn't see anyone doing anything but it is a no go for today. Sorry this is so long!:)

This is a great thread! Thank you, thank you all! I love the pictures of the kiddos and the "new" playground equipment. The guys look happy playing with the little ones.
