There's something about being here that has made me crave everything that has to do with babies of all species. You wouldn't believe the birth rate, either. We've got three pregnant soldiers in my company alone. All happy and all keeping the babies and staying in the army.

Good afternoon Troops, Veterans, family members, and Canteen!!
How's everyone today?
MoJo and crew went to meet the boys' teachers. hotstreak was bored to tears and Timmy was more excited about seeing his friends. hotstreak's friend Catie from last year was telling us that her Dad is on his way down to New Orleans to help *rescue Americans*. Catie is the proud daughter of another Bataan sailor. I guess Catie's daddy checked onboard a few weeks ago and this is his first *duty* with the ship. hotstreak's entire class are all military *brats*. Which is pretty cool for a school not located on a military base. I thank God my children live in an area where the folks are patriotic and the schools are supportive of our military. Feel bad for anyone that doesn't have the same luxury. Of course, complaining about the military in my area is damn near suicidal.
On a more serious note, the coverage of Hurricane Katrina is still happening.
A few of MoJo's thoughts:
First, raise your hand if you'd like to join me in unleashing a can of whoop ass on those dumbasses that fired shots to stop the evacuation?? Damn people! Send their stupid selves to the Palestinians. Those folks also like to be stupid.
How more helpless can one feel watching the suffering of Americans on TV? It is all I can do to throw food at my TV screen and hope to God that it gets through.
If I see another *foreign expert* on TV complaining that we could've done something beforehand to stop the hurricanes, I'm gonna unleash. Excuse you! How many hurricanes do you have in France, Switzerland, and England? Exactly! SHUT THE HELL UP!
I'm thankful that Bethy checked in. WooHoo!! Hoppy also checked in. As a matter of fact, The Sailor got him registered into a class up here later this month. He has no way to contact them via the internet. He was using a phone lent to him by the Salvation Army. He promises to send photos of New Orleans when he can. He told us about walking past three bodies and two of those of kids. He and the rest of the crowd stopped and prayed for those people. It also made the people more determined to survive.
As he said, "tell the rest of America that things are getting rougher, but the American spirit lives on".
Amen Hoppy! Amen!

Oh boy!!! A kitten! I'll cancel my appointment to be inseminated first thing in the morning! Considering my company only has about 10 females, yep, that's a lot.
I have a turtle, actually. He was left to me by a friend who PCS'd. He's not very cuddly, though. He's probably in a constant state of hibernation, 'cause I keep my room cold. I haven't had the chance to go out in the vil' to find a decent aquarium and heat rock for him yet. He lives in a rubbermaid container with aquarium stones and a couple of plastic plants right now.

LOL! The post vet would KILL me. They have a catch-neuter-release program here. That way the cats stay and keep the rodent population down, they keep their territory so strays don't move in, and they don't breed.
Somehow, though, the population stays the same and there's always another cat to catch . . .

The part I liked the best is thinking about Sgt Doyle looking at a pile of humvee spare parts and thinking about how he could use them to make playground equipment. Our military guys and gals are so resourceful and imaginative.
