President Bush: "We are dealing with one of the worst national disasters in our nation's history." Push has appropriated vast federal resources to assist with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
78,000 people are currently in shelters. New Orleans evacuation continues. 10,000 additional National Guard troops have been called to service.
Hospitals are running low on supplies, and public health concerns include water borne disease, poor sanitation, food and drinking water contamination and shortages, mosquitoes, carbon monixide poisoning from electricity generators, lack of childcare, and the special needs of the elderly.

Thank you - did not mean for any to go to that much trouble but it is a very nice recap.
Which brings up an idea (which I have seen on some of these threads).
Would be nice to have a list of notes with times/date of actual happenings. I saw this on one of the recent threads. Then someone could just copy the list and add their latest bit of info and repost. We would then have an actual timed record of actual happenings for quick scanning.
Would be nice if it could stay at the front of the thread for ready access and additions and the comments in the comments section.

Bummer that the poor - ones waiting on checks in the mail that might finance their forced evacuation - had to take a bus. Since they WOULD have taken cars, but evidently have no cars or gas. School buses are loaded with gas. This school bus loaded with gas got them out of the city - as directed - to the Astrodome - as directed.
One can only conclude that you are unable to address the fundamental issue because of base pettiness.
You assumed them guilty due to whatever racist - RACIST - fantasies you cultivate - because the driver had no whitely style and Visine about him.

The stream dies occasionally, and I have to try several times to get back on, but I'm sure they're recieving more requests for the feed than they're allowing.

How are the recreating all the other ambeint sound around them?

I did see the clip from Orlando Salinas just now. He did show people painting red "x's" on the sides of houses. And he quoted a police officer discussing the looters.
