Working around clock to repair breaches in levees around N.O.

Supplies being moved - more than 400 trucks, 5.4million meals, water, plus generators, blanktes cots, and we're just starting.,

Second priority to provide food, water and shelter to survivors. The President is rattling off all that FEMA has provided.....much too fast for me to keep up.

Recovery will take along time... possibly years!
3 Priorities: to save lives; to sustain lives by getting necessary supplies to them (including water and MREs); and to restore utilities, roads and services as quickly as possible.

More than 78,000 people in shelters. Feds (missed the agency) helping to identify working hospitals.

Third priority is the recovery effort. Power, roads, bridges.

He looks deeply grieved to me. It brings me to tears. I am encouraged by seeing him take charge.

A lot of crude production has been shut down. EPA provided a waver for fuel blends. Loans being provided to keep production up.
